Mrs. Ostrich, San Francisco/Hawaii Age and Occupation: 30, Fashion Buyer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 38, Copywriter Engagement Date: October 4, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Sweet ceremony by the sea and sunset celebration on the North Shore of Hawaii About Me: Born in the city of angels and residing in the city by the bay, I’m a fearless fashion buyer by day, a passionate blog author by night and a dreamy bride-to-be in between. I thank my lucky stars to live in such a stunning city that gives me gifts like organic honey lavender ice cream, movie nights in the park, tucked away beaches, legendary record stores, '80s dance parties, awesome sports teams, stellar flea markets, and vintage bookshops. Oh, and I love to dance! We always find every excuse to escape to the beach, and decided a little seaside wedding in Hawaii is our idea of bliss. Full of our favorite people, music, food and sparkly lights, this is one sunset celebration we will always remember.

Anatomy of Love

Anatomy of Love : wedding hawaii stationery 51eoef2 51eoef

{“Anatomy of Love” by Anna Bond}

For our little beach wedding, we’ve been on the hunt for lighthearted and playful items and decorations as little reflections of the Ostrich duo. :)

So when we stumbled upon this oh-so-charming “Anatomy of Love” print by the same fantastical designer of our wedding invitations that we love so much, we knew we had to incorporate it into our day. It’s hands down, no question, our favorite decoration item because it makes us smile every time we see it, and it illustrates the many qualities that make a great love and even greater marriage.

And, we found it on sale on DesignStory. Double win!

Its home will be at our reception table, framed and alongside our guestbook alternative and some other whimsical things that we love.

Bees, what’s your hands-down-no-question favorite decor item in your wedding? How are you using it?

in case you haven’t picked up a valentine’s card… this is one that anthropologie stores are carrying this year.

I found an antique huge eisel on CL for so cheap. Not sure yet how I am going to use it yet. My mom loves it so much she wants it after the wedding, which is great because I have no idea where we would have put it.

@miss11.11.11: Thanks for the tip! I love that print, but it’s a little too pricey for me. :( I was hoping they sold it in smaller size or as a Valentine card!

@eileen marie:
yep… it is a valentine’s card card this year at anthro. If I remember right, I think it is $6 or $8 in the stores.

Not our wedding decor, but we have this print in our house that I love (I’m a huge anatomy nerd): http://www.orkposters.com/heart.html

Very cool! I don’t have anything quite as unique, but I am going with a print/poster for our guest book. Nice find :)

Hm. That’s a tough one. I think our hands-down favorite decor item is the vintage frames for our centerpiece! We almost literally got them out of the trash, but with a little love, they’ve turned out gorgeous. This print is great, too! Excellent and unique accessory! <3
