Speech! Speech! I have to admit, it makes me uncomfortable being the center of attention and especially having people talk about me when I have no idea what they’re going to say. This can be a problem on say, your wedding day! Still, I was touched by the thoughts our parents, my sisters, and Mr. Lobster’s best man shared with us that night. It made us feel so loved and cared for by our family and friends.
First my dad knocked it out of the park telling the story about Mr. Lobster having to clean the gutters before he asked permission to marry me.
Mr. Lobster’s mom previously gave a toast during the rehearsal dinner in which she told embarrassing stories about Mr. Lobster. Tonight, she promised to hold back.

They took turns speaking about how Mr. Lobster won their hearts with snacks (we’re big on snacks). One sister mentioned how in her 3rd grade “Who do I look up to” essay, she wrote about Mother Teresa…and me.
And later one of them told me that was “the worst night of her life” (in a joking way, I hope) because she really dislikes speaking in public.
Finally, Mr. Lobster’s Best Man talked about Mr. Lobster’s persevering dream to play in the NBA and how he invested in these platform “Fit Shoes” which promised a slam dunk if you followed the training program every day which they did together for one summer in Central Park.
Needless to say, neither of them can slam dunk now.
If you missed part of this lobster tale…
