Putting Our Stamp on It

February 8th, 2011 @ 4:16 pm by Mrs. Eggs Benedict

The invites are out, the invites are out! After a long day of printing out all of the pieces and then two full days working with my mom and sister to stamp, assemble, and address them, they’re now making their way to family and friends all over the world!

But before I can show them to you all, I have to make sure they get to where they’re going. But soon I can reveal them—I promise!

In the meantime, I have to give a big huge THANK YOU to the post office for coming out with a great new Forever stamp. (Although I think I heard somewhere that in the future all stamps will be Forever stamps? If so, that’s pretty awesome for all of us who won’t have to worry about trying to find a cute two-cent stamp to add up to whatever new amount the post office deems is the price for mailing.)

My mom found these stamps a few weeks before we finished up our invitations, and I’m so excited about them! They are perfect for both our invitations and our woodsy wedding in general—I love them!

So thank you Postmaster General for not making me use the Liberty Bell Forever stamps for my invitations. Post office WIN!

These stamps go so well with your wedding! I heard the rumor about the all stamps being forever stamps too. Hopefully they will keep coming out with good designs.

These stamps made me want a re-do on mailing my invitations since they would have been perfect for our Colorado rustic mountain lodge wedding! Where were these a year ago when I needed them!

I need to let this go :)

Love these - great for a wedding in the woods, and generic holiday cards!

It’s not a rumor ladies - it’s true! Starting with the Chinese New Year stamp that just came out, all First Class stamps will be Forevers…I’m not just a postage nerd, the nonprofit I work for uses a TON of stamps for our personal mailings, so we’re always checking on these things.

Ooh, I used these for holiday cards, and I was SO happy not to have to buy snowmen that I would inevitably be sticking to bills well into summer of 2012 (of course, with added postage because the prices will certainly go up) or slap a flag on.

GREAT idea for your woodsy wedding! :)

I just was at the post office today - and all stamps released in 2011 are going to forever stamps! And one particular one is AWESOME -it says ‘celebrate’ all fancy and I love it! Gonna have to wait until it comes out to go mail out the invitations!

I got Reagan stamps for my half and I haven’t found any for his half yet, but then I really haven’t looked. I will have to put more thought into that this week, thanks for the reminder.
