Mrs. Ostrich, San Francisco/Hawaii Age and Occupation: 30, Fashion Buyer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 38, Copywriter Engagement Date: October 4, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Sweet ceremony by the sea and sunset celebration on the North Shore of Hawaii About Me: Born in the city of angels and residing in the city by the bay, I’m a fearless fashion buyer by day, a passionate blog author by night and a dreamy bride-to-be in between. I thank my lucky stars to live in such a stunning city that gives me gifts like organic honey lavender ice cream, movie nights in the park, tucked away beaches, legendary record stores, '80s dance parties, awesome sports teams, stellar flea markets, and vintage bookshops. Oh, and I love to dance! We always find every excuse to escape to the beach, and decided a little seaside wedding in Hawaii is our idea of bliss. Full of our favorite people, music, food and sparkly lights, this is one sunset celebration we will always remember.

Let’s take a break from our regularly scheduled wedding program for a little, colorful, sea coral decorated cocktail party….aka, the Ostrich wedding cocktail party. :)

*Cue awesome music - can I get a little Motown up in here??? :) *

With the big days 70 days away (OMG), I thought it’d be fun to share with the hive what we have in store for our favorite guests after we say our I dos.

Way back when, Mr. O and I put together these little inspiration boards. They’ve been super helpful, keeping us focused on getting the items we want (instead of snatching up and hoarding every new cute thing I find on Etsy- must…not….shop!) and doing the DIY projects that will create this playful, breezy vibe.

Playful chalkboard signs leading the way along the sea…

…to festive cocktails with equally festive DIY cocktail stirrers and striped paper straws.

And mmm-mmm good tasty eats!

Bleached white sea coral and washed aqua vintage jars will be peppered throughout the tables as our favorite people eat, drink, laugh and watch the sun set along the sea.

We’re so obsessed with the cocktail hour details and are not-so-secretly hoping we’ll be able to catch the last few minutes of it…just to get a glimpse of everyone we love having a terrific time. :)

What are some of the favorite bits of your cocktail hour? I’m excited to hear what you have in store!
