As you saw previously, I had a last minute practice with my dad. Initially, I wanted to just wing it. But he wouldn’t have it. My dad has taken some ballroom dancing with my mom so a few days before the wedding, he came over and choreographed a whole dance. He even taught me how to ballroom dance using a 1970s dancing DVD (which was pretty hilarious). In the end, I’m glad we did this because it involved my dad in the wedding process as well as allowed us to have that one special memory together.
We danced to My Girl by the Temptations. It was a familiar song and has a good beat to follow. We had a lot of fun even with a few goof ups because my dad forgot the next step (I was counting on him to lead the whole time).
Things got fancy when we added a couple turns. My wedding dress was perfect for twirls. I loved feeling the tulle swish around my legs!
Did we really bow at the end? I guess so. You can see the Empire State Building lit up in the background
Then it was Mr. Lobster’s turn with his mom. They were graceful on the dance floor.
And comfortable enough (unlike I) to have some casual conversation.
With all the reception “events” almost done, we were one step closer to some par-tay time!
If you missed part of this lobster tale…
