Things I Heart: Colored Shoes

February 11th, 2011 @ 4:14 pm by Mrs. Tartlet

“Funny that a pair of really nice shoes make us feel good in our heads—at the extreme opposite end of our bodies.”

Slipping on the right pair of shoes makes me feel FIERCE. And ladies, self confidence is priceless. I love brides who sneak in that pop of color. It’s fun, sassy, and makes for great pictures! The sunny color of this bride’s shoes totally matches her color palette:

Something blue, anyone? P.S. LOVE the vintage fascinator + birdcage veil combo. I’ve also secretly harbored a desire to get an ankle tattoo.

The creme de la creme, what I consider the holy grail of green wedding shoes. I give you Nordstrom’s B.P. Enlightenment:

I fell in love with these shortly after getting engaged back in May of 2009, but was crushed to learn that these glorious green shoes had *just* been discontinued. I kept tabs on a lot of the second-hand resources I talked about in one of my previous posts. A full year went by. I had all but given up hope until I saw a brand new pair in my size up for sale on the Weddingbee Classifieds.

Hello, beautiful.

While I’m still crazy about this totally rad pair of shoes, recently I started to have a serious case of shoe regret. However, that’s another post for another day. As a side note, one of my favorite stores (Anthropologie) is launching their wedding line BHLDN on Monday! Guess what they have?

These are going to sell like hotcakes! I would totally snag a pair if I didn’t have green shoes already.

What color shoes will peek out from underneath your wedding dress?

How do you know what shoes BHLDN will have already? I’d love to see if they have one that will work for me, because colored shoes are so incredibly awesome.

I’m hoping to have aqua shoes, but it all depends on whether I can find some that are both in a low heel and in my size.

I’m getting my shoes dyed in our seablue/teal colour. They’ll be my something blue =)

Mine are turquoise glitter. I’m a big fan of wearing whatever shoes you want on the wedding day, I just prefer color or print!

@lullafly: some of the wedding blog sites this week have sneak peaks at the BHLDN line (I think they had a fashion show in Philly this week). The models are wearing accessories (including shoes) from the first collection. Check out greenweddingshoes.com, I know I saw a sneak peak there :)

I am lucky enough to also own the BP Enlightenment! I bought them at Nordstrom 2 years ago and at the time had no idea how popular they would become.

I haven’t bought my shoes yet, but they are definitely going to be a color! I just haven’t picked which one. :)

Blue for me! Not as my something blue (although I guess it counts for that) but because the girls will be wearing that lovely color.
