It’s glamour shots for our cake. Hi, pretty girl. This is “shimmering quilt fondant” cake with sugar anemones. She’s made of vanilla cake with layers of lemon butter cream and raspberry curd.
Time to cut the cake! I tell ya, it’s a lot of work being a bride and groom—always having to do something like eat cake.
Just before it happened, our wedding coordinator gave us a quick instructions which went totally over my head, hence the intense look of concentration as we make a ceremonial cut.
Eyes closed. Mmmm, gimme my cake already! Sorry to our friends who had to watch our backsides!
Then there were a couple bites for Mr. Lobster. We both knew we weren’t going to do the smash-cake-face thing. Heckety no. Look at us, holding the plates up to not mess with our outfits. Sheesh.
Ta da! We did it! Cake for everyone!
