About Ms. Stripes

Love and Stripes: Nice to See You (Again) : wedding los angeles pictures pro pics recap 111 1

Hey hey hey!

Long time no speak. In fact, it’s been sooo long that I figured a holiday (Valentine’s Day is a holiday in wedding blog land, right?!) was an appropriately auspicious day to pop back in around here and get this recap party started!

Now some of you newbees (hi! hey! welcome!) are probably scratching your head and wondering who the hell this Stripey character is, and I don’t blame you one bit! I mean I wrote my last post here over three months ago! Whoops! Time flies when you’re an old married lady

Anyhoo, I thought it might be fun to take a little trip down memory lane (for me) and/or reintroduce our wedding planning adventures (for you), so we have an idea where we’re going with this whole recap business.

Okay? Let’s go:

It was just over a year ago that I wrote my very first post for the awesomely supportive and welcoming hive. Yes, I really christened myself a lezBEEan.

I told you all how I searched, found, and proposed with the perfect ring.

Um, most importantly, she said yes, and set this whole wedding planning adventure in motion.

We found an awesome venue and I snapped up a short dress. I actually wrote, “So you think I’m gonna change my mind, right?” Of course I did! Ha. Ha. Ha. I still wore a short dress though.

I made my first inspiration board (The first one you saw anyway)

I got serious and talked about how sad (sad sad) the vote on Prop 8 made me feel. I included a picture of young Bob Dylan. I *heart* him because he’s ugly handsome.

I shared my first (of many) DIY Projects:  fabric flowers. In fact I’m gonna give one of these bad boys as a Valentine’s Day gift a little later today!

Then we really got this planning party started:

We played with flowers and then played with ‘em some more.

We picked a photographer and agreed on a work/trade deal!

We picked two trucks, one for for grub and one for sweets.

(And oh man did they deliver! Literally)

We talked a little about the traditions we wanted to incorporate. And 4/5 ain’t bad.

I wrote about my frustration being caught between the pretty and the smart and I vowed to lessen my snarkiness footprint on the planet. I’m reaffirming that vow.

I had a quick fling with Mr. Vuitton, but then ditched him for the lovely Miu Miu. Even my shoe choices are gay!

Our STDs had their own photo shoot.

We found an amazing (awesome! the best!) jeweler to make our rings.

We partnered up. Yee Haw! (Our reward = filing state taxes together/federal taxes separate. HUH?)

We picked an awesome suit for F W Stripes to change into post-ceremony.

I went crazy on our invitations. Seriously. Read about it here, here, here, and here.

Still there? Holy S*#% a lot goes into planning a wedding!

I made our headpieces and flags for our guests to wave AND THEN WE DID IT! We got married! We were High on LOVE.

After the wedding I talked about our blue mason jars, table numbers, sewing projects, music, and my brooch bouquet. I just HAD to catch you up on all the things I ran out of time for before the wedding. And guess what? I still have MORE projects to share over the course of these recaps! DIY bow ties anyone?

Anyhow, I think we’re all caught up now, and if you’ve made it this far (or had the smarts to scroll down) then you deserve a few photos:

So stick around- it’s gonna be an extended Stripe style recap dance-party up in here!

Is there anything about our big gay love fest you’re just dying to see/read about, Hive?

P.S. Oh! Happy Valentine’s Day!

P.P.S. Any cheesy romantic plans?

OMG. Your wedding picture/photographer just bumped up to my top 3 favorite WB pictures. I LOVE the dreamy, romantic quality of them.
Please tell me you took more pictures with that church/chapel in the backdrop of the first image?
The both of you looks so beautiful, happy, ethereal and your short dresses are beautiful! I love how they are both short strapless but two distinctly different styles.
