I also love photography, beating Mr. Eggs Bene at Mario Kart, and watching the most ridiculous natural disaster flicks you can think of (seriously, how can you deny the awesomeness that is The Core or 2012?? That's right, you can't). We are planning our weekend wedding adventure at an environmental educational center, and I can't wait for the fun to begin!

Showered with Ribbons

February 16th, 2011 @ 12:30 pm by Mrs. Eggs Benedict

No bridal shower is complete without the ribbon bouquet. Which I forgot to share in yesterday’s post. Whoops. So, while I got to have fun ripping apart the wrapping paper (and very carefully taking off the bows):

my MOH and best friend S spent her time like this:

This isn’t quite the finished product (apparently I don’t have a picture of that, so you’ll just have to wait for its debut at our rehearsal!), but it’s close.

Am I the only one who had a very surreal moment at her shower thinking about how the next time I’d be carrying that plate full of ribbons would be at the rehearsal?? No? Just me? OK, then.

Thanks again, MOH S, for making the ribbon bouquet (and now I really hope that she still has it because otherwise I have no idea what happened to it…), and C for all of the pictures!

hehe..yay for the ribbon bouquet! :) I’d never heard of that tradition until my own shower this past weekend! :) My lovely BM took it upon herself to make sure all my ribbons/bows got put on that plate. haha. (I’ll have to post a pic. if I can..)

Congrats!

So fun! I was pretty excited about carrying mine too. I did almost forget it at the hotel though since I decided to not take my own car and it was in there (full of wedding stuff!) Mine came out all pinks and whites and 1/2 the people didnt even know each other! I just rediscovered it this weekend as I was rearranging the remaining wedding stuff and couldnt bring myself to throw it away just yet (married 4 months now).

Oh! And I had no clue about the ribbon rule… how many ribbons you break is how many kids you are supposed to have! Pretty funny!!

The first I heard of the ribbon bouquet tradition was here on Weddingbee! It’s such a cute idea. You must be so excited to have it for your rehearsal!

I have never heard of the ribbon bouquet before. I guess I’ll have to see if my MOH has ever heard of it either. It sounds fun and yours look great!

That’s gorgeous! I might have to drop my mum a hint about the ribbon bouquet & see what they can come up with - I don’t know that they know it exists!

I loved my ribbon bouquet and it made it to Napa, but I forgot it for the actual rehearsal! Boo! Leave it in the care of one of your bridesmaids just in case your head isn’t on straight. ;)

I’ve got an epic flower bouquet that I live in fear about forgetting. You can’t leave me in suspense like that. I want to see it now!
