Mrs. Lox, Baltimore Age and Occupation: 33, Government Worker Fiance's Age and Occupation: 35. IT Consultant Engagement Date: May 8, 2010 Wedding Date: May 2011 Venue: Vandiver Inn About Me: I’m an East Coast gal born and bred and a suburban brat turned city rat for the last year. Now Mr. Lox and I enjoy walking all kinds of places, having the coolest things around in our backyard, and especially our garage parking. I love gadgets, toys, Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby ice cream, monkeys, and our insane cats. I’m a blonde by birth and a redhead by choice. I’m that girl in the cubicle farm with all the cool toys and the file cabinet covered in magnetic poetry. I still use smiley faces in my emails, whether people like it or not. This is not the first rodeo for Mr. Lox nor me. And together, we are planning an intimate afternoon wedding on a budget we can afford by ourselves.
About Mrs. Lox

I Need Help

February 16th, 2011 @ 3:37 pm by Mrs. Lox

Guys, I have a confession to make. I have an addiction…to hair flowers. I mean, I know we’ve talked about this before. But since then, I have actually bought not one, but two more. Two! Two. More. Hair flowers. It’s a sickness.

I don’t know why I can’t seem to stop purchasing them. I am helpless in the face of them. I have no self-control. I mean, it could be worse, right? They could be dresses or something. But they’re not. They’re just hair flowers. Four of them.

Who does that? Who has four hair flowers? That would be me. Two of them are currently in my apartment. Those you have seen. This one is currently flying to me from Turkey:

And now, I’ve also purchased this…

Satin Heart hair piece with Tulle, Feathers, and Faux Pearls by Loveybyisha (source)

So my current plan is to take these all to my hair dresser and get her take on them, as well as taking them all with me the first time I get to visit my dress and seeing which I like best. You know, and to stop buying hair flowers. Seriously, I mean it. I’m stopping. Right now.

Is there a 12-step program for this?

Have you purchased multiples of anything for your wedding day?

I totally get where you’re coming from! I had a hair flower addiction, and thus indecision, also! Funny enough, I ended up making my own though I had already bought two!

You’ve got it with hair flowers; I’ve got it with shoes. On the plus side, at least we can both wear them again AFTER the wedding, right?? ;)

It’s veils for me. Only not purchasing… making them. I had a vision of a bird cage veil in my mind so I bought supplies and made several prototypes. Then my mom gave me her veil so that that sparked a round of seeing how I could use some of her tulle to make a more traditional veil. Long and short is I have three veils and no idea which one I want to use!

I have multiple versions of tiaras, shoes, and veils. It’s so hard to decide…especially the accessories. It’s too much fun and you only get to do it once. I love the one from turkey!

You’re good, you’re good! One for the rehearsal, one for the ceremony, one for the reception, and one for the day after to serve as your “we’re married!” flower. ;)

You guys are killing me! :)

@Mrs. Rainbow: DIY is the only thing I’m safe from here. I can play with paper but I can’t wield a needle worth a darn!

@Miss Pain au Chocolat: Lady, look at the odds here… I’m going to have at least three extras. I’d be happy to share the love! ;)

@Mrs. Barrettes: It’s a disease, I tell you!

@Miss Jaguar: I keep pretending that’s true, but these are awfully wedding-y.

@Sunlavender: I’m good at making decisions for other… want a hand with that? ;)

@Miss Crepe: You are clearly my people. ;)

@SweetSara: That’s the only one I don’t have in my hands now! It’s killing me.

@Miss Tartlet: You are an evil enabler. ;) Also, no rehearsal for me!

@Miss Ostrich: Come here and sit in the corner with me. :)

omg! I love hair flowers too. I have been trying to see how I can do my hair for the wedding so I can wear one. I am even thinking about having my bridesmaids get hair flowers. I completely understand.

I had a hair flower obsession too, but never ended up wearing one or buying any. They are lovely though!

This is soooo hair flower porn! Wish I could help ya out but I’m in the same boat! You could always do a hair change for the reception if you can’t decide which one to pick…

They are both super sweet!! But I am partial for the second one, seems like it fits your wedding and your hair better - can’t wait to see if I’m right or not :-)
I also tell myself to STOP - but I can’t seem to!!

I haven’t bought any hair accessories yet, because I think that will open the floodgates to buying 10. :)

I looooooooove the one that you already purchased!!!! It’s so gorgeous. I don’t know if you dye your hair or not, but if it’s dark, I think this one will really pop! My hair is black too and I seem to always get compliments when I wear white hairbands/barrettes. :)
I can’t wait to see what you choose!

You may be addicted, but at least you’re making beautiful choices!
