Love Letters

February 17th, 2011 @ 5:38 pm by Ms Cheetah

While on an envelope run to PaperSource over the weekend, I impulsively picked up these two bad boys:

Love Letters : wedding decor reception Sg

Our Intials

I’m just going to give them to our DOC and let him figure out where to place them for the wedding. All I have to do is figure out how to decorate them. I think they’d look great with twine or yarn wrapped all around them, but I may just go down easy street and paint them a solid color.

Here are some letters at work at weddings:

Maybe I should have also bought the ampersand…

How perfect is this for a beach wedding!

Anther great idea for a beach wedding!

Hmm, maybe I don’t need to decorate the letters at all…

Pretty in Pink

Do you have any suggestions on how I should decorate my new craft letters?

I went the topiary route and glued moss to ginormous letters from Joann’s. They I hung them off the arch as it’s only decoration. People raved about them though they looked pretty crummy up close. From far, they were excellent.

Ha ha ha! I Picked up the exact same letters while on an envelope run!!! Well actually I have the “S” and the “D”. I have been trying to figure out what to do with them as well, so I will be stalking the comments! I love sparkle so I was thinking glitter! I have been searching for the ampersand!! I have no idea where to find it.

I have been looking for ampersand for some time now. And, have not been able to find it :( I was thinking of just keeping the “&” sign by itself on the head table positioning it somewhere b/w our chairs.

Any idea where can the “&” sign be found?

I love painting them a bright color or covering them with moss or flowers!

I purchased some letters and painted them in our colors. No clue where they will go, I’ll leave that up to our planner :)

they’d be amazing if they were covered in your favorite flower, Miss C. i’m going to attempt a version for our beach wedding, too!

You can decoupage them with paper from Paper Source, its really easy and someone at the store can show you. I didnt know how to decoupage before someone at the store showed me. If you used them for your invites you should be able to get paper that matches

@Srishti: @Miss French Toast: @AEMalmostK: It’s not the same at all, but I think Restoration Hardware sells metal &s.
@Miss Elephant: We think alike!
@Miss Ostrich: There are so many great beach options! Can’t wait to see what you do!
@eastcoast midwesterner: Great idea!

Just found this moss covered ampersand on etsy. It would be perfect if you went the flower route with your letters. :) I might just do this too now!

I think I would paint them black/white stripes (not *just because of my moniker)…

I think that would look pretty awesome with your venue’s decor!

Or a bright solid color. Or even leave ‘em as they are for some contrast.

:)

I like the idea of giving the letters a Palm Springs flair. Some combination of lemon yellow and white and grey in either stripes or a diamond block print?

I have larger letters I got from Joann Fabrics and I’ve covered with with flowers. LOTS of work. Granted I did hydrangea petals so it would depend on what kind of flower you used. I have to say thought, I love them. They look great!

Personally, I would paint them in my wedding colors…that would give your coordinator more options of where to place them.

I got those same letters from Paper Source and got some of the pretty paper that they sell and glued it on with modge podge glue. For the “&” I just printed one onto cardstock and glued it to an escort card. PM me if you want to see a photo of the finished project at my wedding!
