It’s time to check one more thing off our to-do list, because this engaged gal just found herself a wedding band. If you’re wondering what that bizarre noise is, that would be me squee-ing with excitement from all the way across the globe in little Sydney-town.
I’ve been fretting about being able to find the right wedding band for me ever since Mr. Jaguar proposed with my lovely engagement ring. If you’re wondering why I’d be worried about buying jewellery (really? who does that!?), let me take you back into the wee early hours of our engagement—not long after I joined the Hive, I admitted I had man-hands when my engagement ring was way too small for me, and the three long months of waiting we endured before my ring was resized and back in my hot little hands. That whole experience, while worth it in the end, sucked. I was sure that I would have a similar problem with sizing when it came to finding a wedding band to match.
So came the big question:
to go with a plain platinum band that could be easily resized, or to find a matching channel-set band that would match my engagement ring but not take forever to be sized correctly. Last time I left you on the ring front, we had visited a whole stack of jewellery stores, only to find that matching the band to the e-ring wasn’t going to be as easy as it seemed. I’m happy to say that the ring dilemma is now solved, and even happier that we managed to go with option two, which is going to make for a beautiful partnership. Here’s what we chose:

The ring is an exact match to my engagement ring, because we purchased it from the same store. It’s a 3mm half channel-set band from Tiffany. Yes, we splurged, and yes, it was more than we wanted to spend, but YES. It was the one. And since I’ll be planning on wearing these babies together for the rest of my life, we are happy with our choice. The band looks lovely by itself too, which is a good option in case there are ever any times where I’d prefer to not be wearing my engagement ring. (Brace yourself for the man hands!)

But of course, they look the best when they’re together. The band is still super shiny but I’ll be definitely making sure to get them both cleaned before the wedding, because I think that will make them really pop. I seriously can’t wait to wear them!

This saga isn’t quite over yet though, as Mr. Jaguar has yet to find a ring that he likes. In fact, I think even he is a little apprehensive about ring shopping—he has long, thin fingers with chunky knuckles (say that ten times fast) and is nervous about finding something that’ll fit and not look weird on his hands. Apart from a watch, he’s never worn a piece of jewellery in his life, so I’m excited to take him shopping and see what he picks out!
How did you decide what wedding ring would be the right match for you?
