Ms. Cheetah, Los Angeles/Palm Springs Age and Occupation: 31, Artist, Educator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, TV Finance Engagement Date: April 2010 Wedding Date: March 2011 Venue: The Viceroy About Me: I’m a silly, sassy lady with a compulsion to create. I love to sing and dance, despite the fact that I lack any talent doing either. I somehow manage to be messy and organized at the same time. I like to spend my days road tripping, watching '80s movies, reading true crime books, buying things on sale, sending postcards, playing board games, dining at food trucks, snuggling, and drinking ginger ale. I have a weak spot for all things sweet, especially Mr. Cheetah! I’m a Chicago girl and he’s a Nor Cal boy but we love living in the City of Angels. After 10 years as a couple we are planning a fun-filled semi-destination wedding in Palm Springs. Hope you enjoy the ride!

And There Will Be Noms

February 23rd, 2011 @ 2:12 pm by Ms Cheetah

Warning: Not to be read on an empty stomach.

One our favorite parts of planning this whole wedding shindig? The tasting! Mr. Cheetah and I made the two hour drive to and from Palm Springs in one afternoon just to attend our tasting—and those four hours in the car were not a waste, my friends. The Viceroy knows how to feed a person!

First up, apps!

Truffled Mac & Cheese

Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Tomato, and Crisp Wonton

We had our choice of four of these—which one do you think got the boot (even though it was super yummy delicious)?

The salad:

Greens with Strawberries and Walnuts

And There Will Be Noms : wedding food palm springs 6

Heirloom Tomato Salad

We only get one salad option, any guesses what we picked? Hint: It tastes amazing!

The main course (served family style):

And There Will Be Noms : wedding food palm springs 11

Local Channel Island Halibut, served with a Farm Fresh Organic Yellow Corn Succotash (quinoa is pictured)

And There Will Be Noms : wedding food palm springs 10

Petite Filet, Creamed Spinach with Roasted Tomatoes and Point Reyes Blue Cheese (Sauce on side)

And There Will Be Noms : wedding food palm springs 9 9

Free form Spinach & Mushroom Lasagna (served plated)

The specialty cocktail:

And There Will Be Noms : wedding food palm springs 3

Raspberry Lemondrop. I’ll take one now, please.

I better find some time to eat at the wedding—there is no way I want to miss all this glorious food!

Which apps and mains out of our choices would you pick?

It’s a good thing I ate recently… I <3 your options. Though I feel like either the sliders or the mac and cheese got the boot.

I would choose the brushetta & crab cake followed by the filet and several of your signature cocktails. I am having very similar items at our reception and we just had our tasting and everything was delicious.

btw… I love Palm Springs! I hope you have gorgeous weather!

I could very well die if I never get to have truffled mac & cheese? Hear that sound? It’s the sound of me wasting aaaawaaaaaaay…

Obviously kidding. ;) The food sounds delish!

OMG The food is one of my favorite parts of a wedding. Those all look like great choices and I might have to “borrow” the cocktail idea.

nom nom nom!!!

ok I’m going to guess that the tuna tartare got the boot, and that for the salad option you went with the one with strawberries.

Everything looks super amazing though, you couldn’t go wrong no matter which ones you picked!

I have no idea which app you would have cut; they all look tasteeee! Our tasting included strawberry salad, which was very good and seasonally appropriate, along with fish (my vote among your entrees) and beef.

That mac and cheese looks so yummy, I hope that was a selection! I love strawberries, so that’s the salad that gets my vote.

I saw this post, just had an afternoon snack and came back (I heeded your warning!) and I’m STILL drooling all over my desk! I think ALL of your aps look amazing, but if I had to kick one out - it would probably be the mac and cheese (sad face) because the logistics of eating that with a fork or spoon WHILE holding one of your delicious cocktails, seems complicated! Menu looks great! We had fun at our tasting too - but didn’t get to try ANY of our aps. It was a bummer!

I would like to invite myself to your wedding. I don’t need a seat, place card, or a favor, and I can help set up and clean up, as long as I can eat some of those yummy NOMS!!!!!
