Yes, I’m continuing with my Katy Perry references. Don’t judge me. 
Hive, hive, hive, I’ve got some news for you all. You see, ever since I shared my big news that Daddy G (who works for Melrose Pyrotechnics) surprised me with the fact that we’ll be having fireworks at our reception, it’s all I can think about.
Picture fireworks right now. Did you do it yet? Amazing. Now picture them at a wedding reception. Double amazing, you say?
Well, that’s what I said too, and then I realized that my imagination couldn’t do it justice. I could let you enjoy all of those pretty images in your head, but instead I just have to show you what I’m looking forward to. No, the fireworks in these photos weren’t done by my dad, but they are amazing and I can only hope for something this epic on my big day.
Enough talking; on to the goods!

LOVE your Katy Perry references! My wife to be can’t stop singing every time this song comes on (hmmm, and even when its not) and her she loves to say “can’t you just see all the cute boys in ptown dancing to this” oh and also i am SO happy for you - though totally jealous - of your fireworks!!! since i was kid it was all i wanted at my wedding, i’m thinking its not gonna happen but hey, you never know!
like someone said on your previous post, “on a scale of 1 to 10 i am a 52 on jealousy!”. it sounds so so so exciting. i LOVE fireworks too — what an awesome wedding present!

That is awesome news! My dad is in charge of the 4th of July fireworks show at my family’s lake house in Mich. and he also surprised us with fireworks at our reception. The pictures are amazing. We also looped our DJ in, and she had a special playlist that played during the fireworks to keep the mood going. It added a lot and after the show was done, everyone went right back to the dance floor!
*gush* I would give anything to have fireworks at our at home reception. You are one lucky bride, G!

One word of advice that just crossed my mind: Ask your photogs if they have experience shooting fireworks. I’m no pro, but it seems like something that would be tricky to shoot.
Even if they’ve never shot fireworks before, giving them a heads up that you’d love to have pictures like these might give them a chance to do a little research and figure out how to get the best pictures for you!
I’m totally jealous with a capital J that you’re having fireworks at your wedding. I mean really, who, other than celebrities or Prince William, has fireworks at their wedding? I cannot wait to see pictures of this amazingness, G!
