The first vendor we booked when we began planning our wedding was our florist. This isn’t because I’m a flower-obsessed bride or because we hired a super sought-after florist (even though she is super talented and should be!). No, the reason why Mr. Cotton Candy and I hired our florist so early is because she happens to be one of our closest friends. My good friend S has spent the last five years working as a florist at her mother’s flower shop in downtown Riverside. S and her mother are some of the most creative and gifted women I have ever met; the art that they can create with flowers is amazing.
Since I trust S and her mom I haven’t spent much time looking for floral inspiration, so far all this is all I have for centerpiece inspiration.
This was the first flower arrangement that really caught my eye. I love the vintage-modern feel of this wedding, and the combo of sleek modern containers and vintage milk-glass bud vases is to die for!
I love these white-on-white flower arrangements, and those orchids are incredible.
Again, I love the white flowers used in this arrangement; this time the use of a single flower really makes a bold statement. I’m also a big fan of the paper-wrapped vase and think this may help extend our tiny budget.
J and I are scheduled to meet with S and her mom soon to discuss our flowers, and I’ve been wondering if I should dig up some more inspiration pics. I love the pics I currently have and would be happy with any combination of the three.
What do you think? Should I keep looking and present my florist with more options, or call it a day and give her only three pics?
Oooh, I love the last one! I think the pics you have show the style you’re really going for with some slight variations, so those would be all I would take in. If you get too many, you might as well bring in a whole floral book because it won’t be a narrow enough idea of what you want :).
very cute! i wouldn’t keep searching for pix. from those she can get an idea of what you like, and will probably make suggestions from there.
I am so the wrong person to ask. I made a whole inspiration board to take to my florist. And then she had me look through her books for things I liked as well. The only good news is, I was incredibly consistent with what I wanted apparently, so I think she has a really good picture of what I’m after. (I hope.)
I love that tall milk-glass vase with the succulent!! So elegant.
I love your inspiration and I think it will easily convey to your florist what you’re going for. I loooooooove me some simple floral arrangements on the tables. Perfect!
These pics are sooo beautiful! Personally I gather up just a few more…maybe of something you know you do not want or really dislike.
I think they are great pix! But you might want to find some bouquet pictures that you like, too, to give more direction in that area as to what you like . . . just a thought!
Beautiful! I think your friend will be able to tell your overall “style” from these photos, and take it from there! It sounds like all of you are really close, so you can always rely on verbal communication to round out the specifics of bouquets/bouts/etc. if you plan on having those. 
The last pic is wonderful!! I think it does show what you want, but there is some inconsistency (for me at least) between the first pics and the last, so maybe some extra would not hurt! Also bouquet pics and ceremony pics (if applicable) might help!

they did my flowers too! I’ve known S since college.
Definitely give a couple of extra. This will give them some leeway with creative control. I just told them “orange flowers” and they were all beautiful!
I love the first pic, they are almost the exact vases we bought to use for our wedding. I would send as many pics as you can find. That way you are sure to get your vision across to the florist.
The inspiration boards go well with your venue (which I love by the way)
