Oh. My. Gosh.

I’m pretty sure those were the words that fell out of my mouth when I realized I had just been accepted as the newest bee! I wanted to run straight out the door and tell everyone, but it was only about 2PM here. So I was forced to sit at my desk, smiling like a fool for the rest of the day. I’m pretty sure my coworkers thought I had either peed my pants or lost my mind. But who cares! I’m a bee!!!

I was REALLY eager to get started, so as soon as Sparks (that’s Mr. S ) walked through the door that night, I started flailing my arms around and yelling, “I need you to take my picture!!!” Being too afraid to say no, Sparks whipped out his camera:

Yes, I went out and found a box of sparklers, in Chicago, in February. It just felt more official. So (officially), hello, hive! I am crazy happy to be here!

Who are the Sparklers? We’re college sweethearts who have been together for the past 7 years. We have an unhealthy obsession with music and live for the not-so-serious parts of life. Along with our strange sense of humor, Sparks and I share a cozy 2 bedroom apartment, an unbridled passion for delicious Chicago food, and the absolute love of our lives, River H. Dog:

We’re planning a modern, downtown wedding for 250 of our closest friends and family. I have visions of chevron stripes, bright plum and black and white color schemes, a kick-ass band, and late night doughnuts… mmmm, doughnuts. What was I saying? Oh, right. Since 95% of our guests are coming from out of town, we’re doing ALL the planning. Making plans in Chicago is never inexpensive, so DIY has become my new favorite acronym! We’re determined to pull off the city wedding of our dreams, without having to sell our souls to the wedding gods. It should be an entertaining ride!
