Even though my wedding is less than three weeks away, I hadn’t had a single dress fitting until last weekend. *gasp!* See, my dress arrived at the dress shop in Dallas in October just days after I returned to New York from a planning trip. And without a trip between October and February, the dress just sat at the shop waiting for me to come back. Of course I made sure to hit the dress shop when I was in D-town last weekend to get my dress altered and bustled. Wanna see?

I love my dress so much, and putting on MY dress (instead of the sample) was so exciting! Bridesmaid Angela was on hand to snap a couple of pictures on her phone as the seamstress showed me how the dress would look after it’s lifted up a bit and taken in. (Sweet! The dress has to be taken in!)

The seamstress pinned up the train to show me what the bustle will look like. Me like-y!

The only bummer was that the super sassy shoes I bought for the wedding are just a wee bit too tall for the dress, making my toes peek out from the bottom. As much as I hated to admit it, it didn’t look good. In fact, it looked pretty bad. Luckily, I had purchased a last minute just-in-case pair that are a tiny bit shorter and brought them with me to the fitting. They worked perfectly and the dress hem doesn’t need to be shortened at all. But, I’m not gonna lie… I’m not in love with the new shoes. They will totally do, but they don’t make my heart go pitter patter. But, at this point, I don’t really care. They are shoes. They are relatively comfortable. They are navy. They were on sale for $50. I’m not going to expend any more energy on shoes. In the big scheme of things, they are totally trivial. Did I mention my wedding is in less than three weeks and I’m letting go of all non-essential things to worry about?

I’m arriving in Dallas the Wednesday before the wedding, and I’ll be heading to the shop that afternoon to try on the dress again to make sure the alterations are perfect. If not, there are still a couple of days for adjustments. Fingers crossed that everything works out!
Did you have any issues with last minute alterations? Should I be stressed out about this?
