We took couples’ formals twice, once right after our first look and then again between the speeches and the cocktail hour.

You know I had to get a dip photo in there after writing an entire post about doing photo worthy dips.

After the civil ceremony and speeches, we had a vintage Rolls Royce from Rolls Livery ready to escort us downtown to Hotel Solamar, our wedding night hotel. That party bus from San Diego Charters escorted our out of town guests to the restaurant for the cocktail hour and reception.

I highly recommend having your own transportation. It was a last minute decision for us. It’s not exactly the cheapest thing, but it was really nice to be swept away and to have some time to ourselves.

We had another photo session when we got to the hotel with the car…

Then, a couple more on the roof at the pool lounge.

I’m happy with the way our couples’ shots came out, but I will admit that I was pretty darn tense though all of our formals. I never really felt like I let go and just had fun in front of the camera. I think I needed a glass of wine; I felt shy. I felt the eyes and cameras on me. In fact, I remember this last photo being the one moment where I said to myself, “cross your legs and look hot.” Sadly, that was the last photo of our session, as we needed to head to the reception.

After writing this, I think I need to set up another session to fully explore the awesomeness my wedding dress exudes. Anyone else feel overly tense and shy in their formals?
