Like our couples’ pictures, I also had solo bridal shots taken twice. The first time happened right after our couples’ photos on the cliff, right before the photos with the Hottie Brideswomen. As you can see, I also used the parasols. Thank goodness for them. We definitely needed the shade. The first photo up top definitely took several shots to take. Hanssie told me to put the parasol straight up above my head. She kept instructing me to tilt it back more…a little more…and then she ran in and positioned it for me. I was laughing (of course) because it felt so funny. When I finally saw this photo, it made a whole lot of sense why the positioning had to be just so.
Note to other brides to be: Always listen to your photographer. They’re more aware of lighting issues than you likely are.

These next two photos show the beauty of having two photographers. While our lead photographer, Hanssie, took this photo…

her second shooter, Garret Davis, took this shot.

This is definitely one of the benefits of having two photographers on your wedding day. There is a camera on you at two different angles. This means 2x more photos.
We got to Hotel Solamar and Mr Hot Wings checked in while I did a bit more posing.

The hotel keeps their lights down really low. While that makes for some great nightlife ambiance, it really made Hanssie’s job difficult. I should have warned her about this situation. Honestly though, I hadn’t even thought about it.

I’ll end this post with one of the photos that reminds me of the discomfort I felt during our formals. I mentioned feeling discomfort when I recapped our couples’ formals. Look at that awesome backdrop. I should have been busting out some hard core America’s Next Top Model style poses that I talked about so much in my earlier posts on posing and creating triangles. Seriously, I only mustered a single hand on the hip and a look of confusion. Tyra would be so disappointed in me. I know I could have thrown out more fierceness than that.
Thus, my suggestion to brides-to-be is this: Please let go of being scared of looking like a fool and just go for it!” You’ve got a wedding dress on. People are going to stare whether you’re posing or standing their looking clueless. You might as well get a little hoot and holler!
Oh well, live and learn.
