Hello everyone! Greetings from Germany! I am so happy and still a bit amazed to be here.

The other night Mr. Carousel and I were just getting ready to go to bed when, by habit, I checked my mail for the last time of the day. Well, what do you know—there was an email from a Weddingbee email address! A million thoughts went through my mind, so I just opened it and had to read it at least three times before realizing it was an acceptance letter!!

I sort of gasped, and then started giggling and hugging my FI: it had been a LONG time since I’d been that giddy! It took me about another 20 minutes to actually read through the whole email and respond to Mrs. Penguin that I would be happy and honoured to be Miss Carousel.

Why Miss Carousel? Lots of reasons, but mainly because:

1. A carousel is happy, charming, sparkly, nostalgic and always a classic. Maybe I like to think that describes me as well?
2. We’re actually going to have some Carousel themed elements in our wedding (unfortunately not a life-size edible chocolate carousel, but a girl can dream!)!

As you can see, it was a no brainer.

So who are the Carousels? I’m an American-Italian girl, currently living in Germany but always open to new relocation opportunities! My Belgian fiancé and I love taking advantage of all the possibilities of today’s globalized world, as we travel every chance we get and enjoy meeting people from all cultures. We are also a very homey couple: we cook together, love to cuddle on the couch with a glass of good wine, and always have great swing classics playing in the background. Sometimes it’s hard to get us away from our computer screens, but that’s just our inner geekiness shining through!

We’re planning a wedding in my hometown on the Lake Garda, Italy. We have the beautiful scenery, gourmet food, and plentiful wine you’d expect from an Italian wedding, but are adding enough personal touches to make it a reflection of our passions and our personalities. Some people might be surprised, but we’re planning on entertaining everyone!
