About Mrs. Crepe

I Love You More Than Cheesecake.

March 9th, 2011 @ 11:39 am by Mrs. Crepe

Mr. Crepe’s brother is a student at culinary school and made this beautiful cheesecake for everyone at Christmas. We have been talking about having this in place of a wedding cake. I am obsessed with cake but Mr. Crepe isn’t a fan (I know, WHAT?) so this is a great compromise.

I am so excited about the possibility of including special touches by people who love us and this would is the perfect way to do that. Right now, BIL Crepe has decided he’s going to be making 10 of these and my only request is that one of them be a New York style cheesecake. Holla.

And there is this memory: one of Mr. Crepe’s first declarations to me was that he loved me more than cheesecake. “More than cheesecake!” I said. A little incredulously. But there it was, and here we are.

Will you be including homemade sweets in your spread?

I’d make sure you tell the “I love you more than cheesecake” story somehow. Maybe a little sign where you display the cakes? I think it is cute and personal and will be a fun conversation starter.

i wanted to make my own cake, but i was talked out of it my by BMs. i make all the cakes in our family, but they are mostly carved, covered in fondant and painted.
i will be making the grooms cake, but i left the wedding cake to a professional!

I’m with Jaci! You should totally print up the story and include it on menus if you’re having them or on a sign on the cake table with the cheescakes! It’s so sweet. :)

@TheFutureMcBride: Right?? That’s what I’m thinking ;)

@Jaci: @Miss Lox: I love that– I didn’t think to do this at all but you’re right, it would be so sweet to include it at the table!

@miss.qwerty: it IS really nice of him to do that! A great gift.

@Miss Elephant: it is the best!

@Chocolatte: Sometimes it’s better to leave it up to a professional, just to give you a little peace of mind. :)

@Miss Tartlet: It’s just whipped cream, possible dusted with chocolate? Delicious.

Sweeet! We had a cheesecake buffet instead of a cake and it was a hit! My sister made about 15 cheesecakes for us as her gift. It was a huge hit! Right after we said our thank yous and we opened up the cheesecake buffet… you see all the people run and attack the cheesecake!
Make sure you have to-go boxes… that’s one thing we forgot. So people ended up taking home whole cheesecakes.

@CLER: great tip!! Just shared that with the mister and he says “no, those are MY cheesecakes.” Will ignore him and bring boxes. ;)

Yes! I’m asking my FMIL and my aunts all to bring a home baked dessert for our dessert buffet. I am going to try to make a big batch of rice crispy treats (FI’s fave) the morning of the wedding & make cute little signs for everything labeling what the desserts are and who made them.. maybe even the recipes.

That is such a great and fun idea! A cheese cake buffet - ahh I can just picture it right now!
The story that goes along with it is also really special - what a nice yummy touch to your wedding :-)

Hey loving someone more than cheesecake is pretty serious business. Well at least with how much I love Cheesecake. ;)

And OMG I am super jealous that you get to have cheesecake at your wedding! Mr. M. doesn’t like it at all.
