Bridesmaid G. was my college roommate in school and she’s quite the crafty one herself. She’s a toy designer by day, and by night she’s my personal little sweatshop worker. Just kidding! She loves using her gorgeous antique sewing machine, and since I’ve got my hands full of little DIY projects in the meantime, she was totally on board to help with sewn decorations.
Have you guys seen the use of bunting (aka pennant banners) in wedding decor?

Via Once Wed, 100 Layer Cake
Whether it’s at the altar, at the dessert table or on a menu, patterned banners like this are simply too sweet to pass up. I’m trying to stay away from things that are done quite so often but I have a bit of weakness for these. I can’t help it. They’ve got that nostalgic pull.
Since she knew I’d want photos for blogging purposes, Bridesmaid G. was kind enough to snap a few for us.

First, she made a pattern out of a piece of regular copy paper and cut the triangles out.

Then she put the outside patterned part on the inside and sewed each side, leaving the top unfinished because I’m going to attach them to a ribbon when she’s done.

The last thing she did was iron them flat. How cute is that ironing board?
She tells me she’s made 158! The woman is a rock star. Anyone else enlisting the help of some crafty friends? Chime in! (I may be feeling a tad guilty and looking for some company…)
