I love all things design, sewing, flea markets, and a good book. I’m Mexican American girl who hates all things spicy but loves her rowdy Mexican family and her Latin roots. Vintage Haul

March 10th, 2011 @ 8:44 am by Mrs. Cotton Candy

Recently the mister and I spent an afternoon shopping in Olde Towne Pomona Antique Mall in search of vintage cake plates for our dessert buffet (more on that to come soon!). We struck out on the cake plates, but I was able to pick up these pretties to add to my wedding-day look.Vintage Haul : wedding accessories riverside Bag2ba

I was practically giddy when I came across the beaded clutch. I’ve been searching for a vintage embellished clutch for some time now, and this one fit the bill perfectly. Based on the condition of the beading and the lining, I’m guessing it’s at the earliest from the ’70s. Vintage Haul : wedding accessories riverside Beading

I’m not 100% decided on the earrings, but at five bucks they were too good of a deal to pass up. My one gripe about them is the left earring is missing one of its bottom tear drops. I’ve shown my mom and a couple of my bridesmaids to see if they notice the difference, and they all agree that with my hair down the difference won’t be noticeable. What do you think of the missing crystal? Negligible, or should I keep looking for the perfect pair of earrings?

The clutch and earrings match beautifully! I don’t know if we should be able to notice a difference from the picture but I certainly can’t tell. You have to do what makes you happy though, because if the whole day you are going to be thinking about your earrings being slightly different then you should get a pair that you know you are comfortable with.

If it bothers you couldn’t you take a tear drop off the other earring too. Then people would just think that’s the style of them.

Nice finds!

I can’t tell the difference in the earrings either, I think they are lovely.
Is it possible to remove one from the right one so that they match? Just a thought.
Gorgeous!!!

If you don’t love the earrings for your wedding, keep looking. The perfect pair is out there and you can always wear those very cool drop earrings to your rehearsal dinner.

These are beautiful! I had to search the photos of the two earrings before I found the missing crystal, so I don’t think it’s very noticeable at all. :) If you change your mind, you’ve got plenty of time to find another pair!

What great finds! I like the PP suggestion to balance them out using the “extra” on the other earring.
