What Happens in Vegas…

March 11th, 2011 @ 2:14 pm by Mrs. French Toast

is shared with the hive!

Two weekends ago, my closest girlfriends whisked me away to Vegas for some girl time. We did the usual wine tasting, shopping, visiting Hoover Dam, and of course, catching a Cirque De Soleil show.

Mr. French Toast, you can stop reading here now.

Whew. Now that he’s outta here, did you really believe we did the above? (I’m sure he doesn’t either). Because the TSA certainly didn’t find a pecker pops while going through my BM’s luggage for nothing!

That incident spiked one the most fun and memorable trips I’ve ever had. We started off Friday night at Venetian’s TAO nightclub in Vegas. The name has a special significance to me so the BM Maggie specifically reserved a table for the 12 of us.

On Saturday, we miraculously woke up on time to for our lunch reservations at Serendipity. Deep fried food and hot dogs never tasted better.

We then spent a lazy Saturday afternoon shopping at Caesar’s Palace before heading back to the hotel to freshen up for the main attraction:

For anyone who is skeptical about this show, DON’T BE. It is one of the most entertaining shows I’ve ever seen. BM Maggie made sure our party sat in the front at the very center. Naturally, the bachelorette tiara and the sash I was wearing screamed “TARGET!” I was pulled up on stage at one point for some very memorable and drool-worthy actions.

We danced the night away at Caesar’s Palace’s PURE until the lights came on at 4AM. And the next morning, we reluctantly hopped on a flight back to San Francisco.

It was truly one of the most exhilarating and fun weekends I’ve spent with my friends. Even two weeks later, we’re still talking about the events that happened in Vegas and laugh over it. Vegas isn’t joking when they labeled themselves as an adult’s playground.

And here are some tips I’ve learned from BM Maggie for planning a bachelorette party in Vegas:

  • Get table service at the nightclub. It will cost a little more, but it will be to your party’s benefit to have your own space, especially when the dance floor gets extremely crowded as the night goes on.
  • Pace your drinks at the nightclub! We arrived to TAO at 11PM and by 1AM, most of us were completely wiped out.
  • Don’t plan any activities for the next morning. Everyone will be sleeping in—trust me.
  • Bring sunglasses. I was walking around Vegas extremely hung over on Saturday. Even at 5PM, the sun felt extremely bright to me.
  • Buy bottles of water to keep in the hotel room and stay hydrated. It must be the air conditioner blasting through the casinos coupled with smoke because the air quality in Vegas is horrible.
  • Bring foldable flats! I brought mine and a few of my girlfriends ended up purchasing them at H&M in Vegas.
  • If you’re reserving tickets for the show at the Excalibur, pay the little extra and get front row, center seats. Worth. Every. Penny.
  • and finally, if you’re the bachelorette, remember that your friends are all here to celebrate for you—soak it in and enjoy the moment. I was initially nervous because my friends are big partiers, but Mr. French Toast wholeheartedly advised me to let it go and just have a good time. That’s exactly what I did, and had the time of my life.

What’s your ideal bachelorette party?

Looks like a blast!!

I was in Vegas last October (we got engaged on that trip!!) and I noticed that I was DYING of thirst the entire time, and I didn’t drink any alcohol while I was there.

So, hangover or not, keep water handy!

What an awesome sounding weekend! The last time I was in Vegas I also remember being thirsty all the time (and normally I’m like a camel with water). Yay for bachelorette parties!

It sounds like so much fun! I kinda want to go, but Vegas isn’t exactly a hop skip and a jump from here. And we’d have to dig out our passports!

I was at TAO Sat night. That place is crazy pants- did you see the naked girls in the bathtubs!! Whoa. We were at Ceasars too, but were too tired to make it to PURE. Vegas is not for the weak- or the old(ish).

omg, i’m SO GLAD you mentioned the terrible air quality. i was just there with friends (not for a bach) and by night three i felt so sick - not drunk OR hungover, but just… gross, and i think it was from the cigarette smoke everywhere and horrible air quality!!!!
