I know I might get some flack about this; some of you will think I am completely out of my mind.
After I bought my dress, I went to M&J Trimming and got about a yard of beaded trim. The colors I chose for the wedding were mostly warm tones, so I thought it would be nice to swap out the sequin appliques on my dress for some champagne hued sparkle!
Last night, I took a deep breath, unzipped the garment bag, and took out my scissors.

I stood there for a few minutes, trying to figure out if I was absolutely sure that I was going to do this.
I mean, what if I accidentally cut the fabric?? What if it comes out completely wrong?? The dress already looked pretty the way it was. Maybe I should just leave it alone.
But I knew myself and I know that if I didn’t try to make it my own, I’d regret it. I mean..this is the girl who took a marker to every single stuffed toy she owned and made sure they all sported purple eyeshadow and red cheeks. (Thankfully, I’ve honed my decision-making skills over the years.)

So I dove in, blades first. I don’t have a finished product to show you just yet, but cross your fingers for me!
Have you ever tackled a DIY project that MAY have been a little over your head? Did it turn out the way you wanted it to?
