About Mrs. Starfish

Newport Nuptials: Sleeping on the Job : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Augusti We asked to have my Goddaughter/niece to be our flower girl even though she would be just shy of two at the time of our wedding. I knew she may not be able to walk by our wedding date or she may not even be in the mood to walk down the aisle. You never know how a toddler is going to feel, but we couldn’t imagine our wedding without her.

When the time came for her big “walk” down the aisle, she was passed out. People mentioned waking her up, but that wasn’t an issue for us. Babies sleep. We knew having a younger flower girl meant she may not make it down the aisle. So even though she was sleeping, we were just happy to have her with us. Our sleepy niece snoozed down the aisle in her mother’s arms.

I loved it. She was as adorable as ever.

I also love all the beautiful photos of her.

She eventually woke up and was well rested for the reception.

Did/are you having children in your wedding? Were there any concerns about the kids making it down the aisle?

Oh my goodness so cute! My 3 year old ring bearer did not want to hold the pillow for walking down the aisle. And then he tried to grab petals out of the flower girl’s basket while they were starting their walk. It comes with the territory I guess!

Toooooooooooooo cute! I just vetoed having ring bearers and flower girls but we did have plans to include my god sons, our pastors daughter, and my hubby’s niece. There will be a TON of children at our wedding just because our friends are at that age. We chose to forgo alcohol at our wedding for this reason also.

My goddaughter was going to be one of our flower girls, but it was clear the day of it was not going to happen. We just had the other older flowergirl walk down the aisle.

Adorable!
One of our flower girls actually had the flu the week of the wedding, and she refused to walk unless she was carried.

Easy fix - another cousin bought a cheap satin black dress, I stuck a corsage on her, and she carried Zoey down the aisle.

She’s a adorable!!! We are having a 3 yr old FG and 4 yr old RB. The FG is a ham and loves attention but the RB is the wildcard….fingers crossed. Either way, as long as they are there and having fun, I don’t mind if they run, walk, or carried down the aisle.

Whew. What beautiful pictures of your sister and niece. The last one punched me right in the baby factory. Something about a sleepy baby with a pacifier that just makes me yearn for one of my own! :)

The kids were a big hit at our wedding- we had a sleeper, too, but he made it down the aisle before he passed out. :)

aw. She is SO adorable! And we completely agree, going in we knew all that and it was just important that they were there. Our goddaughter was just 1 years old and not walking yet so grandma carried her down the aisle. Our 2nd FG was having a tantrum and did not want to walk down so grandpa carried her. So my other niece walked down with 2 ring bearers behind her! =)
By the reception time 2nd FG was up and ready to walk out with her “date” my younger nephew the RB!

So cute! My flowergirl is 5, and she’s FULL of energy. I’m sure she’ll make it down the aisle, but she will probably run full speed and tackle my fiance at the end haha

These are very cute photos. Having your “sleeping beauty” probably made the day that much more memorable for your guests.

So. CUTE! I’m so glad you posted this, because we feel the same way about my niece (who will also be a bit shy of 2 years). Some family members have a hard time digesting why we’d want to “risk it,” but like you two, we couldn’t imagine the wedding without her. :)
