I love all things design, sewing, flea markets, and a good book. I’ve been known to swoon over a well-designed chair and often find myself craving a new addition to my chair collection regardless of the lack square footage in our home. I’m Mexican American girl who hates all things spicy but loves her rowdy Mexican family and her Latin roots. My wedding muses may not be your typical wedding superstars, but with a lot of DIY, a dash of offbeat style, and lots of love and laughs, Mr. Cotton and I plan to create a day that is unmistakably us.
About Mrs. Cotton Candy

Holiday, Oh, a Holiday!

March 16th, 2011 @ 10:12 am by Mrs. Cotton Candy

The Cotton Candies have officially booked our honeymoon!

Source

When we first started discussing possible honeymoon destinations, we both agreed that long waits in airports and cramped flights were not what we wanted to experience on our time away as newlyweds.

We both agreed that ideally we wanted to road-trip someplace that we’ve been to in the past and loved; we also wanted a luxurious room and plenty of amenities at our hotel in case we never wanted to leave our room. Unfortunately, luxuries and amenities don’t come cheap, and we wanted to keep our hotel costs down in order to have a larger chunk of money for excursions and nights out. After knocking around a couple of local destinations, we finally landed on Palm Springs.

Since June is technically considered Palm Springs’s off season, we were able to score a super deal at the Parker Palms Springs.

For about half the usual nightly rate, we booked one of the Parker’s estate rooms and will be able to partake in all the amenities the Parker has to offer.

If you’re interested in heading out to Palm Springs for your honeymoon or even a bachelorette party, the Parker summer-rate special runs from June first till the end of August.

Are any of you planning to stay local for your honeymoon? What’s your destination of choice?

The Parker?! FAB!! I am super jealous - that is awesome! And I am glad you got such a great deal, too. Nice work! I totally like your idea of staying (semi-)local. Palm Springs is super swanky and amazing; you will have a nice, relaxing time.

I’m going to Palm Springs for my honeymoon as well! But mine will be destination because I live in the midwest! I can’t wait to hear about how your trip went. Did you research any activities to do in Palm Springs? I was interested in going to Joshua National Park like Mrs. Ribbons did.

I am a Palm Springs Local and absolutely love this hotel!!!! The spa (aka The Palm Springs Yacht Club) is a must. Norma’s has the yummiest food. The grounds are incredible, s’mores at the fire pit, giant chess game. I love this hotel. Make sure whoever checks you in gives you the whole tour and tells you the story of all the places. (I used to work here and when I had to check people in this was my favorite part). In June it can get super hot in Palm Springs, like 115 degrees, and no I am not kidding. So you will probably want to spend lots of time by the pool. Let me know if you want some locals advice on hang outs and restaurants. Hope you enjoy your honeymoon.

Looks reallyyyy nice! I think I’ve seen that white design wall before in other weddings online, right? We just booked a cruise to the Bahamas! We live in new york, so all we have to do is drive to the port, park our car, and board the ship! Def wanted to stay away from airports!
