Four months before the wedding, I wrote about the “post-planning, pre-wedding inspiration board” I created below. After a lot of the plans were set, we were in for some thumb-twiddling before seeing the real deal. So, I used my not-so-mad skills in Photoshop to mock it up.
Details on those board images are in the original post.
After it was over, I revisited the board to see how well it matched up. Pretty close! Take a gander at some little things from a big day.

Clothing and Accessories

Something blue, part of my bridal-shower present from Bridesmaid JK. Get this: I hung the undies somewhere obvious (I thought) in the closet. This way, I wouldn’t root through my bag for them in the AM. Then guess who still thought she forgot the underwear the next morning?

Oui, oui, oui

I guess he had shoes, too.

Ladies
Our second shooter paid a lot of attention to my girls while other things were happening during portraits. Taco’s posse shone brightly that day, so I’m glad there were so many detail shots of them. Dresses are showing up pinker than actual in these, FYI.

All us girls got toe embellishments with our pedis the day before.

Food

I had to sneak a few more in of dessert. See here for more on the best cupcakes there ever were. Two pics immediately above by Right Angle Images.

Flowers and Centerpieces

We decided on San Francisco streets as table names. They were either streets we lived or worked on, or main streets. We wanted them to look as much like the real thing as possible; we flirted with the idea of making them geographically accurate in the room, but that proved too difficult and too nerdy. We located the same font (or as close to it) of actual SF street signs, sent it off to our designer, and off to Kinko’s we went.

The Venue
We had our ceremony and reception in the same room: the Green Room at the War Memorial Veterans Building. If I could live in it, I would. I mentioned it recaps here and here because I love it so much. Oh, and I mentioned it back in the Miss days a few times, meaning this may border on obsession.
The room is deliciously symmetrical. So it looks like this in the back, also.

Reception

An unnamed guest ran from one end of the balcony to the other with the Me Cutout, resulting in some injuries to both herself and the cutout. Both partied on like champs. Pic by Right Angle Images.
Togethering

This is one of my ultimate favorites. We had to have a picture of these.
Were you relieved, excited, or disappointed to see how everything compared to your inspiration board? I enjoyed the consistency with my late-bird board, but I can see folks wanting more unpredictability.
Catch up on our supreme day:

- Cocktail hour, just-us time with the photographers, and life-size cutouts, you say?
- Ceremony: “comedy hour,” not falling, and a snub-nosed flower girl.
- First look, bridal-party wanders around Civic Center.
- Official start of recaps, as we get ready for showtime with sandwiches and mimosas.
