The morning of the wedding started off just like so many of my mornings in Mexico. I left Mr. Meerkat sleeping in our room and headed down to the Royal lobby so I could sit out on the deck over the water and drink a cup of tea in the cool morning sun.

The only difference this time was I was going with my laptop and a purpose. I was going to write my last Weddingbee post as a Miss. As I sat there writing, I got a bit teary. It was a bittersweet way to start our wedding day but I wanted to tell all of you how thankful I was for being part of our crazy wedding journey. When I finally clicked publish, I just sat there for a minute taking it all in and thinking back over the last two and half years. It didn’t take long for me to start grinning like the village idiot again.

After who knows how long, I headed back to our room. I showered, got dressed, grabbed my bag and after giving Mr. Meerkat a kiss goodbye, I hauled myself over to Sister-In-Law Meerkat’s room where all us girls were going to be getting ready.

Now who should be waiting there for a lucky bride to be but two fairy godmothers. Meet two of our friends, Stacey the Makeup Fairy and Kari the Hair Fairy. (Kari gets total credit for coming up with the names.)

Kari is a cosmetologist and the only person I trust to cut my hair. Stacey has been a friend of Mr. Meerkat’s and Sister-In-Law Meerkat’s FOR-EV-ER (sandlot flashback anyone?) and is a total makeup guru. These two amazing ladies are not only great friends but made all of us beautiful for the wedding.

After I sat my bag down, we got straight down to business. We ordered lunch.

Three fajitas, a couple quesadillas and some fries later I had a happy, full belly and Kari was almost done with my hair.

After my hair was done, it was Sister-In-Law Meerkat’s turn.

While I went to help bridesmaid K put her dress on.

Yes she is totally laughing because we were having a hell of a time figuring out the instructions for tying the dress. Even Sister-In-Law Meerkat had a good laugh while I figured out how to tie the design she wanted.

Eventually I did get it tied correctly.

And just as Kari was finishing up with Bridesmaid K’s hair, our photographer, Sol Tamargo, arrived.

While Sol started to snap some pictures of Kari and Bridesmaid K, I went to go help our moms get ready.

Now that I had everyone else ready, it was time for me to sit down and let Stacey the Makeup Fairy work some of her magic.
