Mrs. Lioness's Picture
Mrs. Lioness, Atlanta Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Attorney Engagement Date: August 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Anthony’s Fine Dining About Me: I’m a Southern girl with New England roots. I say "wicked" and "y’all" in the same sentence and I like to drink sweet tea with my lobster. Mr. Lion and I are both former Floridians now living in Atlanta, which fortunately is still SEC country...Go Gators! We both love baseball, coffee, traveling, cooking, and playing Words with Friends with each other on our iPhones all day long. I’m very passionate about the things and the people I love, and I tend to plan things with all of my heart...our wedding, of course, is no different! Oh, and also Mr. Lion is a first generation American of Cuban descent. I may look more like Lucy than Ricky, but I’m doing my best to incorporate some Latin elements into our vintage-garden-Southern wedding!
About Mrs. Lioness

Dress Up & Say Cheese!

March 22nd, 2011 @ 6:18 pm by Mrs. Lioness

Instead of having a guest book at our reception, we will have a photo booth where guests can leave a photo instead of a note. Well, actually, ours isn’t a photo booth…it’s a fauxtobooth! Our guests will pose in front of a DIY-ed backdrop, rather than inside an actual booth.

There is a great deal of beautiful fauxtobooth inspiration on wedding blogs. Some involve cute props made out of felt or paper:

Some involve beautiful vintage frames:

Some are unique to the wedding’s theme:

Ours will be what I like to call “thrift store chic.” Mama Lioness is a master thrift shopper and has been collecting funky fauxtobooth props for over a year now. After we threw in a few of our own contributions, here’s our collection thus far:

And finally, a faux-gold Cadillac chain. Be jealous.

Remember that old mailbox that I found? If not, here it is with our last two props.

The rest of our props just so happen to fit perfectly inside the mailbox.

Gasp!

Are you doing a fauxtobooth? What are you doing for your props?

Your mailbox has inspired me to hunt down one for our cardbox too! We are having a “real” photobooth and I can’t wait to go lots of garage sales to look for perfect props! I already have an inflatable heart on clearance from valentine’s day and I’ll be making mustaches and lips on sticks too. Your props are great!

Love all your props! I especially love the Marie Antoinette wigs, sunglass collection, and the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears.

AHHHH! Love the Up mailbox with the bride and groom ears! Are those the top hat groom ears? How did you get your hands on those - they’re so hard to find!

Awesome. I have to look for my own props. The company I’m using says they have props but I’m not sure if they will be that fab after seeing yours :)

Ooh, I’ve been thinking of getting the Ikea Ung Drill frame (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00091967) for a while. Now you’ve convinced me–I’ll buy it for the photo booth, then after the wedding we’ll put a mirror in it and hang it up.

We’re doing a photobooth but not sold on props yet. This shall take some digging to find good ones.

I’m SO digging the mailbox!!! The mouse ears are high on the cuteness scale. And y’all are Gator fans, too??? (Sometimes I think Mr. Crown’s man-cave threw up orange and blue…)

You just gave me fabulous inspiration!!! My brother and I are both gator fans. But sadly, I live in Tennessee.
However, I think it would be great to have some gator gear in the fauxto booth!!!
Thanks!

Your props look like so much fun! I’d plunk a Marie Antoinette wig on my head along with some of that fab eye wear!

Looks like fun! I’m doing a 50s living room style photobooth. So I’m getting those 50s glasses frames (the thick black rimmed nerd glasses), 2 seater vintage couch, old newspaper, mustaches, 50s styled hats, etc.

My son and I totally hit garage sales and the Dollar Tree hard this last year and we have a very large assortment of props for our fauxtobooth stored up and ready to go :-) I am in envy of the wigs…seriously.
