At this point in the day, I felt very ready.
I was totally antsy and ready to get the show on the road. It was nice having a very relaxing wedding day, but the downfall was that I didn’t have much to keep me busy and I was a bit anxious to just get married already.
However, there wasn’t much I could do about that until our photographer got there. I was determined to have some getting ready photos, so I was just sitting around twiddling my thumbs until Melanie arrived. When she first got there, she stopped by the guys’ room to snap a few shots of them, prolonging my wait even further. I seriously thought my head might explode if I had to sit there and just wait any longer. I think this was the point where I took to just pacing around the room to let out some of my extra energy.
But I’m oh-so-glad we have these photos.

Once Mel took a few photos of the guys, it was time for her to (FINALLY!) come to my room. As soon as she walked in, I began frantically shoving my sister into the bedroom so we could start on my makeup. (Okay, maybe I exaggerate a little. I didn’t actually SHOVE her. Maybe just a little push?)
We found the spot with the best light in the room, plopped down, and got to work.

At first my nieces watched their mom work her magic (I mean, what little girl doesn’t love watching people put on makeup?) but soon, they got antsy and began to entertain themselves.

Seriously, y’all, every time these cuties see a camera they bust out the model poses. They crack me up. But despite the antsy kiddos, Sister Cardy and I kept going with my makeup.

And soon enough, it was time for the finishing touches!

By this point, the girls were about to lose their minds. They were dying to put their dresses on and were annoyed that we kept making them wait. Of course, it didn’t help that this was the view covering the back wall of the room:

We held the girls off for a while, but once they started (literally) climbing the furniture, we knew it was time to let them get dressed.

While the girls got dressed, I took a minute to sit on the bed and collect my thoughts. I was about to put on my wedding dress and GET MARRIED. I needed just a few minutes to calm the hell down.

Of course, I barely had time to gather myself before Melanie had me distracted again!

And then she started bossing me around (photographers are good at that, you know) and before I knew it I was no longer relaxing—I was posing!

Luckily I’d had enough time to get myself together, because my dress was waiting…and it was finally time to put it on!

Did you have any time to gather your thoughts before your wedding?
