About Mrs. Biscuit

Blingin’ Biscuit

March 24th, 2011 @ 3:42 pm by Mrs. Biscuit

With 132 days to go, I realized I have no idea what accessories I should wear on my big day.

Oh, and fair warning, Mr. Biscuit. This post shows my dress. You know what that means:

Why the dilemma? Well, for the past five or so years I’ve worn pretty much the same accessories every day. They consist of: pearl earrings and either a pearl necklace or a miscellaneous necklace from the Tiffany silver collection.

I’ll show you what I mean:

I can’t bring myself to draw on this beautiful picture from my photographer, but I think you get the picture.

I love my pearl earrings so much, that I don’t know what I’d ever do without them. They’re definitely my go-to accessories. In fact, a few years ago, my dog ate one of my pearl earrings. We found it again a few days later; however, her stomach acid caused the pearl to shrink to about half of its size. Mr. Biscuit was awesome enough to retrieve said earring and buy me a new pair for Christmas the next year though. :)

I was hoping I could just wear said pearls on the wedding day, but no dice. My gown just doesn’t look right with them. I need a little sparkle. I’ve included a few pictures of my first fitting (please ignore the fact that my dress does not fit at all. I have hope that the seamstress will get it right).

I think that something cute and slightly sparkly in both my hair and ears would be sufficient. Anything else may be too much. I found these earrings at Nordstrom and fell in love with them (and their price point). I mostly like that they’re not too crazy big and match the style of my e-ring.

Now that you’ve seen my dress and my style (or lack there of), I need your advice. Are these earrings OK? Any ideas for what to wear in my hair? I’m not into really flashy jewelry and I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on jewelry that I will probably never wear again.

Please help me hive! You guys always give the best fashion advice and I can’t make this decision on my own. :)

The earrings are perfect. For you hair, were you planning on wearing a veil, or just something sparkly?

Why not stick with your signature pearl, but add a little bling to it. That way it’s you, but a fancier version of you. AND if it’s a style you like you may actually wear it again!

You could do drop pearl earring with bling above it. Like this:

I think the earrings are absolutely perfect!

For the hair, is that last picture how you want to wear your veil? That’ll help us help you. ;)

I’m in love with your dress. Those earrings are perfect, and if you’re looking to add a little bling to your hair, what about a few scattered rhinestones (I have bobby pins that have a single crystal on the end) or a simple crystal headband? This one is my long-time fave that I don’t think I’ll get to wear:

This is unrelated, but: Did Mr. Biscuit play “Cabbage” on Scrubs??? :) He looks so much like him in that e-pic! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0118186/

I love them!

Something to think about: if diamonds are your signature, why not incorporate them with a little bling for your big day?

The earrings are perfect. Maybe with a ribbon headband of somesort of your hair? (See Mrs. Cardigan’s pics, for example?)

Or, for other cheap options maybe try browsing through your local Forever 21, Claire’s or Icing stores for cheap, sparkly hair-spiration.

I was in the same boat! I actually rented my jewels from adorn.com. Seriously gorgeous pieces and I didn’t have to promise my first born in return.

ok first off your dog drawing has me cracking up! LMFAO! I agree with everyone…stick to your pearls but add some bling along with it. And I think a loose romantic up-do would look nice

I got those earrings as a gift for my bridesmaids. They’re beautiful in person!

Thanks for the input everyone!
@Miss Sloth:The veil in the pic is the one I purchased, so I thought throwing a fascinator on the side may look nice.
@klachance18: @JulesJM5: Great ideas! I actually own earrings just like the ones shown. Sigh, I’m so predictable :).
@Miss Tartlet: I’m swooning! I love headbands!
@Miss Panther: Creepy! They do totally look alike. Maybe if I show him this pic he’ll cut his darned hair to that length. He is completely hippy-fied right now.
@missbiscuit: Forever21 is my go-to for cheap jewelry. I love that store!
@Kayley:I have to check that site out! I had heard of renting jewelry, but figured that was out of the question due to my location.
@xtatic1:
That’s exactly what I was thinking of doing with my hair. I’m writing a post about it as we speak.

@Miss Lox: Yup. I’m thinking of doing a messy updo, so I guess that’s where the veil would sit :).
