About Mrs. Ostrich

When I get stressed, I watch TV…for, like, hours.

I use it to escape to a world that’s more f*#cked up than my petty wedding woes and POOF! just like that—my shame cave vanishes and I go to my zen bride happy place. And then I work on my DIY projects. Dark and twisty…and it totally works. ;)

So lately, as the stress has piled up THIS HIGH, I’ve been into Grey’s Anatomy {season 6)…because watching a life full of gunshot wounds, shattered bones, mystery illnesses, and life or death choices makes me realize my life, and our wedding, is pretty freakin’ awesome. And while the heart transplants, amputations and brain surgeries flash before me, I snip my vintage ribbons, tie pretty bows around my palm leaf fans and make supremely cool signs for our wedding. :)

This girl has no heart and it’s New Year’s Eve. = *hangs head in shame* I AM AN UNGRATEFUL BRIDE!

So this past week, I was in full DIY mode and made a few signs  on Photoshop  that will be framed and peppered throughout our wedding. Wanna check ’em out?

I used this template for our flip flops, buttons and food menus, too. :)

How do you deal with craaaazy wedding stress? Do you watch Grey’s Anatomy like I do? AND, what super awesome DIY projects did you accomplish this week?

I *love* this post. I watch wedding shows I have stockpiled on the DVR. It seems counterintuitive, but watching other people go through the same thing I’m going through but on a much higher, TV-worthy level makes me MUCH calmer!

You signs are so cute! We’ve been watching Bones while doing wedding-related projects. I think we’ve blown through almost 3 seasons since we started. ;)

That is what I did all day!! :-)

Took the day off work to get some things crossed of my DIY list and watched a good many movies while doing them. I love the movie, The Proposal. Keeps ya laughin’

Love me some Grey’s Anatomy! It’s one of the few shows I still make a point to watch the day after (I have class on Thursday nights). So my Friday lunch is always Grey’s!!!

I too watch Grey’s and DIY at the same time. Last night I painted our guestbook fingerprint tree and a couple weeks ago I created our cake topper.

If I’m stressed, I try to find something small and easy to cross off my list. Or shop online for honeymoon clothes that I can’t afford. Totally loving your chevron signs!!

I love Grey’s Anatomy. Mr. Roux knows that Thursday 8.30 I get the remote, and he is not allowed to talk to me, or breathe loudly. Sometimes in the ads he brings me food. I have him well trained. :)

Your signs are very cute. I love the background details.

I did a lot of DIY-ing during the Winter Olympics last year. I’d never watched that many hours of downhill skiing.

I love the idea of zoning out in front of the boob-toob and how it just puts our stuff in perspective. Your signs are SUPER cute. Good job.
