Also known as the guest book.

You see, we’re having a guest book, as most weddings often do, but I’ll tell you right now that its not as easy as you would think. To save time (and possibly my sanity), we’ve decided to buy a guest book rather than DIY one.

I was obsessed with the idea of a photo guest book for a while, but my narcissistic self has already put our photo on all kinds of wedding things, so we’re going a little more traditional with this one.

Funny thing, being traditional about this is the one reason I didn’t want do. You know why? Wellllll, a “traditional” guestbook really isn’t my style. In fact, what comes to mind is something like this:

It’s pretty, but it’s not me and Mr. G at all.

Obviously, something not my style would turn me off a little to the guestbook, but the amazing world of Etsy is once again turning everything around for me.

I’ve found just short of a bazillion options on Etsy for guest books. There are more standard guest books, customizable guest books, handmade journals that could double as guest books, and then some.

Now, the only hard thing to do is decide. Here’s a few of the lovelies I’ve got my eye on right now.

There you have it, folks! Well, I did say “bajillion” earlier; I told you there was a ton of options. Clearly, I haven’t made up my mind at all here. Oh man, I better figure that out soon!

i went with the traditional one, for time and sanity sake. after doing all my other diy projects, waiting until the last minute to buy my candy bar stuff and everything else, i just didn’t have the energy or $ to put into a photo guest book. it upsets me, but in the end at least ill have something to remember who came (hopefully they all signed it :P)

I got mine from the Etsy shop, Emerson Bindery … it’s delicate but beautiful! I love it! The designer does wonderful work and has so many options to choose from.

I had a lot of DIY ideas for the guestbook, but in the end decided to use one that was gifted to us at our shower. Doesn’t get any easier than that

Sometimes Etsy is just too good! Makes choosing very hard. After similar deliberation I went with LaceyClaireDesigns- and she was really nice and helpful too. Ordered the one in the link below but in my colours of ivory, silver and pink.

I like the one with the space/opening for the photo on the cover. I like how there is the personalization too.

I also like how the last one was stitched on.

If you want to add photos, make sure the book is built for photos - mistake I made - some books aren’t meant to house dimensional items, such as traditional guest books. They won’t close with the bulk in the pages…

Modern Shabby on etsy (you have one of hers pictured above) made my guestbook for my wedding! She did a custome one for me. She forgot about it and I had to remind her, but I had plenty of time so it didn’t matter! It came out GORGEOUS!!!! I loved the idea of something different! Ours is lime green with ivory + teal lace with an antique looking brooch on it with a peacock!

Not to sound crazy or delusional, but this seller seems to be the same one I used last spring from Etsy. Of course then the username was Elegantly Bound, but long story short, I ordered a custom guestbook 5 months ahead of time and it never arrived…so I spent the day before the wedding trying to cobble something together after the seller kept stringing me along for months. I only got a refund after I threatened to report her to the police in Spokane.

I’ve used Etsy for other purchases and had a great experience, but these guestbooks look identical to the ones the seller had listed last year and it was a scam.
