I Love Shoes.

I don’t have super expensive taste in shoes, but I do love looking at them and lusting after them and talking about them. Mr. Hyena and I have a deal where I don’t tell him how much I spend on shoes because it’s better for our relationship. :)

I decided right away I didn’t want white shoes. Because of this picture:

Pink shoes it is! Wow, that took convincing.

My first loves were “Body Talk” by Poetic License:

These were never once in stock in my size. They were a little more than I wanted to spend, at $153, even though I knew I would wear these again and again. I did find them for $97 on Shabby Apple and ordered them, but then I received an email from them saying they actually only had black ones in stock. Bummer.

I never SERIOUSLY considered these beauties from Dolce & Gabbana, but I did spend about 30 seconds trying to justify purchasing shoes that cost more than my dress, my rent, the value of all my possessions. :-D Zappos, you’re such a tease!

With both of these options out of budget or permanently out of stock, I started looking around closer to home. Mom Hyena came into town and we went to Payless Shoes. They recently started selling a collection of dyeable formal shoes, called Unforgettable Moments by Lela Rose, which is where we found these:

Of course I had them dyed “fuchsia,” and at a whopping $48, these were a fantastic deal. I luuuuuuuurve them! Take a look:

I got some heel inserts for them so my feet won’t slip out, and I’ve been slowly breaking them in for a while now. I can’t wait to wear these as I walk down the aisle!

Have you discovered any sweet deals? And how often do you try on your wedding clothes or accessories? (C’mon, ’fess up! ^_^)

Cuuute! Love the pink, and the bow!! And, as an aside, I am obsessed with those massive peonies in that first image.

Oh my gosh, those are crazy adorable. Wish you’d written this post like 7 months ago! I had a terrible time deciding on shoes and finally resigned myself to white strappy dress shoes. but I really wanted royal blue.

I love the idea of paying a lot for a cute pair of shoes that you will many times after the wedding day. A pair of white bridal shoes will probably never see the light of day again. But a cute pair of heels like that–so many future possibilities. I don’t own very many expensive shoes, but I wouldn’t mind splurging on my wedding shoes knowing they would be something special for me to wear years to come. Now if I could just find a pair that are both fabulous and reasonably comfortable…

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! I have really been considering this same shoe from payless dyed the sapphire color. They turned out great and look so cute under your dress.

Did the dye come out evenly?
Did you buy anything to keep it from smearing or running if it rains?
Are they comfortable and true to size?

Thanks so much!

@LinzyJo: The dye did come out evenly, and I bought a bottle of spray waterproofing stuff for about $10 to make sure the color wouldn’t run. Even so, when I was breaking them in I got a couple of tiny water stains on them. I think they’re true to size, but the heel inserts made them more comfortable since my heel doesn’t slide out as much now. Hope that helps!

That picture from SMP has been my inspiration for both shoes and flowers (even though I can’t have peonies on 9/3/11)!

Your shoes look amazing!

I love those!! I can’t believe they ended up being so inexpensive! I’ll have to look into Payless dyeables.

@Miss Tartlet: Oops, sorry if I was unclear! I didn’t dye them myself, Payless ordered the shoes from the store, and had them dyed before they sent them to me.

Adorable! I was toying with the idea of wither white or silver shoes, and then I came across royal blue shoes that were everything I wanted! The heel wasn’t too high, they were strappy and had some crystals on them….they were “last season’s style” or something like that, so they only had ONE size 8 and they were on clearance for $20!!!! :O
