Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!
About Mrs. Cardigan

Alright, y’all, it’s about to get a little self-centered up in here. Fair warning.

Before we headed out to take family photos and whatnot, Melanie forced me to sit down for a few bridal shots. I say forced because, at the time, I totally wasn’t interested in taking these photos. I was antsy and anxious and I wanted to get the hell out of that room.

HOWEVER. Mel totally knew what she was talking about because I’m so glad I have these. It’s not like I’ll ever hang them up in our house or anything (awkward!) but it’ll be nice to look back on these and remember that I used to be young and hot. (I can’t be the only one who does this awkward smile-with-my-tongue thing, right?)

I felt really weird taking these photos because, um, I don’t normally sit in chairs like that. Melanie kept telling me “scoot your butt forward!” and I couldn’t stop laughing because I felt like such an idiot. But looking back at them? I’m glad I listened.

It wasn’t easy for me to sit still and take these photos while everyone else was flying around the room getting ready, but I love looking at them, and it brings me right back to that moment every time I see them. Anxious, excited, nervous, and dying to see Mr. Cardigan and just get married already!

With the bridal portraits finished it was finally time to get the show on the road. Family photos were next on the agenda, and then it was time to get hitched!

Did you take any bridal shots on the day of your wedding? Were you as antsy as I was?

Our photographers were really wonderful and made everything feel natural. They told us how to pose without ever really telling us how to pose, so even DH, who hates having his picture taken, was responding super well to all their suggestions.

I actually had a lot of fun doing the bridal shots, especially since my girls were all hovering in the background looking like they were about to tear up any second at the sight of me in my dress, lol.

I’m in love with the second photo! I have only ONE picture of me alone the whole day and it was from my belly button up and it makes me a little sad……….. So glad you did this! :)

Sometimes I smile with my tongue like that. It’s a half :P and :) when just one won’t do. Love these bridal portraits - we’re so glad she convinced you to sit still and pose too!
