Underpants

March 31st, 2011 @ 3:01 pm by Mrs. Waffle

While preparing for my fitting today, I was thinking about what in the world I was going to wear under my dress. I’m pretty picky and finicky when it comes to underpants. For a girl of my stature, I’m carrying quite a bit of luscious luggage in the back. I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error with finding exactly the brand, shape and size of underwear that are comfortable and won’t ride up the booty. Goodness knows, I do NOT want to be this…

WEDGIE PICKING BRIDE

Therefore, I am going to skip looking for pretty, lacy, fancy pants and head straight for the underpants I know and trust, which makes me soooooo happy I decided to go with a gown that is fuller on the bottom instead of a mermaid or trumpet style. If I had to wear a thong all day, I would be miserable.

Lucky for me, there are some really sweet and cute styles out there right now in my favorite cuts that would be perfect for my something blue and keep me comfortable all day long.

And this pair is just awesomely funny…

Are you planning on going fancy pants or comfy pants for the wedding? Should I go with funny underpants or sweet and lacy?

“luscious luggage” Love that quote! I’m totally going to use that, especially seeing as I have quite a bit of luggage myself :)

Ooooh, I love that second one!! Still deciding on this – probably will end up going the more ‘comfy pants’ route.

I’d go with the funny but comfy ones. Maybe you could find some funny ones that would have a double meaning… like if you and your FI have a favourite slogan or something..

It’ll depend on the dress, but I know I’ll have to wear a bra of some sort. It’s going to be in April, near the start of the month…

cold air + no bra = embarrassing!

LOVE the choices! And I definitely agree with being comfortable!

I went for comfy, beige, and boring. A pair of spanx held me in under my dress and also covered up any lines from my long line bra. Not fun, but functional! I love those first two pairs that you posted.

The second pair is so cute! And its looks sort of “bridal”, too.

I’m most likely going to go with a cute brief as I have plenty of “luggage”, and my dress is really flowy so it shouldn’t be noticeable.

I know it sounds crazy… but The Lacie from VS, one size fits all, are AWESOME thongs! Honest! I hate thongs but these are so comfy, that I work out with them. I literally change at the gym into them, or make sure I have them on before starting my runs. I don’t understand it, maybe they are like the traveling pants and they really do fit everyone perfectly, but I just wanted to throw that option out for you. Otherwise, I like the lacey ones… if you’re like me, there are rare occassions where I bring out the “adult” underpants… and by rare occassions, I mean our anniversary, once a year. Haha. Why not use this time to spice it up? Good luck!!

I’m totally going for comfy and boring! I’ll change into something fancier once the wedding day is over! ;)

Neither fancy NOR comfy for me – Spanx all the way. I don’t want my less-than-smooth belly distorting the lines of my gorgeous custom dress. :)

Wow …I’ve been thinking about this as my wedding approaches!

The two Lacies are cute! Plus they look comfy. AE will have another customer coming by. lol

I’m not a thong gal, but I see myself having to after I marry. So I was thinking about just forcing myself to like ‘em. Theres something about luscious baggage and thongs that don’t sit well. hahaha. Maybe it’s just my booty?

Keep in mind color just based on the type of fabric you wear. My aunt had a pair of cute dark blue undies for her wedding and she didn’t try them on with the dress until the day of…. about five minutes before the ceremony was to start one of her bridesmaids noticed you could see her underwear through the dress…. well she didn’t have a back up pair readily available and she had tights on… so she had to bust out a pair of scissors to cut the underwear off and she ended up going commando… and all of our close relatives knew including her soon to be mother-in-law. It was hilarious, but defiantly unfortunate.

Hanky Panky has by far the most comfortable but still pretty undies, etc that I have ever tried on.

i was braless (with weird silicone nipple covers that i decided on incase my strapless dress suddenly fell off or -more likely – BURST off) and went with comfy cotton undies because i did wear an insane waist cincher tube thing.

that was all the drama up under there i could handle.
