RSVP Rundown

April 1st, 2011 @ 5:31 pm by Ms. Sloth

Well, today is the day that our RSVPs are due back, and I figured I’d share some fun little stats with the hive.

RSVP Rundown : wedding philadelphia rsvp Rsvp 1 Photobucket

  • Total Guests Invited: 87 (includes Mr. S and myself)
  • Total Local Guests: 56 (64%)
  • Total Out-of-Town Guests: 31 (36%)
  • Total Yes Responses: 68 (78%)
  • Total No Responses: 13 (15%)
  • Total Past Deadline Responses (TBD): 6 (7%)
  • Out of the 68 YES responses:

    • Local invitees: 47 (69%)
    • Out-of-Town Invitees: 21 (31%)

Out of the 13 NO responses:

    • Out-of-Town Invitees: 9 (69%)
      • 2 - too elderly to travel
      • 1 - other plans
      • 2 - married couple, wife has finals
      • 4 - budget issues
      • (Please note that we didn’t ask for these reasons, they were all just offered to us by our friends/family)
    • Local invitees: 4 (31%)
      • Two of them were friends of mine who decided to come together and not bring their husbands.
      • One of them has an out-of-town family affair on the same night.
      • I didn’t get a reason from the other one.

Out of the 6 TBD responses:

    • One is an out-of-town friend who genuinely isn’t sure yet if she will be able to come, but is trying her best
    • Two of them are really just two friends of mine who have RSVPed yes but still aren’t sure if they’re going to be bringing dates.
    • 3 haven’t spoken to me about it at all, so I’m not sure if they are coming or not.

So that’s that! We’re pretty happy with the response rate, and with the exception of a couple, most of the NO responses were ones we expected, and thus there were very few negative surprises.

How did your RSVPs break down? Did you end up with more, less, or about the same amount of guests that you expected?

This is very helpful is trying to guess-stimate a head count for my wedding. I am racking my brain trying to guess which people won’t be able to come and what their reasons would be. Thanks for the insight.

This is great. I always enjoy this RSVP response posts. Now that we’re in our 2nd week of returned rsvps without a “no”, I’m wondering when those’ll start trickling in.

Mr. H keeps reminding me that our guests still have three weeks to get their cards back to us, but I am so anxious to find out who all is coming and who isn’t!

Sounds like you got great results. Ours were pretty similar in that we knew most of the nos ahead of time. We ultimately had one surprise OOT yes and another surprise OOT no. DH also had some OOT college friends decide to come without their girlfriends/wives and make a man vacation out of it. We also had 2 couples who intended to RSVP yes when they got the STD but later found out they were pregnant and couldn’t fly and 2 local guests start international carrers ultimately ended in a no. It’s insane what a difference a year can make from the STDs to the wedding.

We haven’t received a “no” rsvp yet. Wondering when it will happen. I’ve heard through the family grapevine that a few guests won’t be able to make it. Anxious to send out the second round of invites to our wider circle of friends so hoping those No’s come back sooner rather than later.
