Seriously though, these pictures of us in the garden are very precious to me. This is the garden that I had wanted to get married in since I was a little girl, the garden my grandfather painstakingly created over 20 years, the garden that holds so many childhood memories for me, and now wedding memories. Getting all love-dovey in this setting was one of the most peaceful parts of my day. We started off sitting on a bench…

Ignore the scuffs on my shoes…they are vintage after all

When we got bored of the bench, we meandered around the garden as we pleased. We got mushy in the rose pergola:

And then on the wee stone bridge…

…And finally at the fountains:

Alright, that’s enough gazing into each others’ eyes for one post. By the time we had wrapped up those photos, it was very close to ceremony time. Mr E was hustled off by his groomsmen. Guests were trickling in.

The bridesmaids and I hid in the fountain area, and my dad tried to keep me relaxed. But, all my peaceful feelings had suddenly gone “poof.” I couldn’t stop shaking and feeling dizzy at the thought of soon walking up in front of all those people. If you haven’t guessed it yet—I find it hard to cope in public situations like that.

Photographer to the rescue! She saw me turning pale with nervousness and quickly started directing me to pose with my parasol on a bench.

It worked. I was so distracted that I didn’t have time to panic. And then, my dad took my hand, we returned to the rose pergola, and waited with the bridesmaids for our cue. I was about to get married!

• We welcomed our guests with pizza on Wednesday, DIYed our flowers on Thursday, and had a nightmarish Friday

• We showed a London cab some love
