Initially I thought I wanted a pretty simple colour scheme.

Black and white.

As I started perusing wedding photos, I saw the amazing shoes that brides are wearing. The wheels started turning as I contemplated an awesome pair of shoes. I may have a thing for shoes. After all, who wouldn’t want to jump on the bandwagon after seeing some of these amazing shots (all courtesy of our fantastic photographers, Sakura Photography)?

What colour to pick? That was easy since it became obvious that there is one colour I tend to gravitate toward.

I have a purple camera—the Nikon Coolpix S630.

Purple is one of my triathlon team’s colours.

Plus, I already own several pairs of purple shoes (or shoes with a purple accent). This is just a sampling!

I had it! I really wanted a beautiful dark purple to accent things. I think that a black/white/purple colour scheme really goes with our desire for an evening cocktail party type of atmosphere.

How did you decide on your wedding colour(s)? Was it an easy decision?

The dark purple is one of mine as well… gotta love those oh-so-rich, almost black eggplant-y aubergine shades.

My other is green… more clover than anything else, not too bright or too olive. perfect =)

… along with navy and canary yellow accents. My mother has to carry color chips around with her because she says ‘there’s about a million!’ LOL I couldn’t help it, they look so good together!

I did the same!! great choice!!

PS. There are some great purple shoes at Le Chateau if you are looking…that where i got mine.

Inititally my colours were browns and greens and earth colours…when i found out my moms favorite colour is purple i added splashes of it to break up the green and ivory…in my flowers and…my SHOES! LOVE

Um, I still haven’t decided on my wedding colors. OK, that’s a lie. I decide, and then change my mind…and then decide…and then change my mind. This is the problem of a long engagement.

me too! black and white ftw - that way, if i see a color that i fancy i can just throw it in there. we’re doing home-grown zinnias so who knows what color flowers will pop up. this way no matter what we get, we’ve got the neutral black and white background for them. plus - with so many zinnia colors - i now have a million options for snazzy shoes too!

I always knew I wanted black and white too - it’s just so classy! Originally I wanted red as an accent color, but FI told me he thought it would look Gothic (grrr MEN!) so I then fell in love with yellow! Of course now FI tells me he hates yellow and would rather red but I told him he no longer has a say in colors LOL So it will all be black and white but with pops of yellow (basically just the flowers and the ribbons on the invites and favors! And perhaps a yellow signature drink as well

Must say, like your shoes. I came up with tiffany blue, coz FH eye’s are blue, and tiffany just look so well on him. I’m going with tiffany blue and white, wanted a light camel colour, but no, we just stick to white and tiffany.
