About Ms. Sloth

While I started thinking about bridesmaids gifts back in the fall, I didn’t start shopping for them until just this week. Here’s what I’ve decided on so far. But first…

How to Keep Your Bridesmaids Happy (I Hope!) : wedding bridesmaid gift philadelphia Ladies Photobucket

First, I’m going to pay to have their makeup done for the wedding day.

I’d offer to pay for their hair as well, but Mr. S’ sister-in-law has already offered to do everybody’s hair for free.

Secondly, each bridesmaid will be getting a personalized makeup case from Etsy seller aewilder.

Next, each lady will receive a personalized water bottle from DesignherGals.

These are super-cute. You can create cartoon versions of your friends and family. Here are the images that will be on my girls’ bottles.

L-R: My sister, Bridesmaid C, who travels all over the world for her job, Bridesmaid J, who is a very talented baker, and Bridesmaid K, who can take a damned good photograph. (Each bottle will just have one girl on it, not all three.)

And then, well… I honestly don’t know!

I don’t want to buy them jewelry or accessories to wear for the wedding in case they already were planning on wearing their own, or in case they end up not liking it. So I’m kind of stuck on what else I can gift to the girls.

Any suggestions? What did you get for your bridesmaids?

This is an awesome gift especially the make-up and hair services :)…As a hairstylist I often make a suggestion to my brides to make these services a gift, your bridesmaids will be much appreciative.

What more? I’d be happy with the makeup case, bottle, and free makeup! :) Great gifts!

Oooh, I love that ruffly makeup case! And the cartoons are adorable. You are so sweet to your BMs! :) Maybe a canvas tote to carry everything in, or something? That’s always a good one, because who doesn’t need a tote!

I’m paying for mani/pedi’s too as part of mine - we’re all going together after the rehearsal/before rehearsal dinner!

Those are really nice gifts, and I definitely don’t think you need anymore! I’m pretty sure your BM’s are happy to have that honor, regardless of gifts :)

love those makeup bags!

Those makeup bags are SO adorable!! Wish I would have thought of something as cute as that!

I designed flower shoe clips from this seller on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/blacksatinshoes.

Each BM is getting a different color and pattern representing each of their style and personality. Plus I thought it would make a cool photo since my girls are wearing gray shoes (of their choice).

Each of them were $20/piece…but they are small and I am afraid they look like I didnt spend much on them. I know that sounds silly but I’d like to add something else that is reasonable maybe around 10/piece.

Any suggestions?

Super cute!
I got my girls personalized tote bags that all of the rest of their gifts came in, a couple of cute hair clips, makeup bags with a few “emergency kit” items in them like lip balm, tissues, a Tide stain pen, etc., a pashmina to wear with their dresses, a personalized item each (a Beatles mug for the one who likes the Beateles, and some great cookie cutters for my MOH who loves baking), and then I also made them each a personalized wire hanger, a la the famed Lilafrances hangers. (The loved them, but they were a bear to make and didn’t turn out nearly as professional looking, fyi.)

Love those water bottles, I might steal that idea from you!

If you head the canvas tote bag route here’s a DIY tutorial that has been floating around the hive http://ashleyannphotography.com/blog/2009/11/21/diy-doily-canvas-bag/

GREAT ideas, I am so in love with the make-up cases, especially the bunting one!! I don’t know if you really need something else but maybe a pashmina or something to go with their dress for the wedding?

maybe just throw some lipgloss in the bag and call it a day!

I would just add small emergency kit type items into the makeup bag. Lotion, lip balm, tissue, hairspray. I love the water bottle idea…might have to borrow it.

I love it! I agree, maybe some lipgloss or gum in the makeup bag - looks like a wonderful gift to me!

I’m doing a set of bath gel & lotion from bath & body works for each of my girls. My mother is making homemade fudge for ALL our gift bags (all 11 of them - ugh!). I also did the cliche’ personalized t-shirts with iron-on rhinestones that say bridesmaid, maid of honor, mother of the bride, etc.

Something personal to them would be really appreciated IMO. Like if one is a wine fan, a nice bottle. For the coffee lover, a GC to your local barista (Is that a Starbucks made up word btw?).

I am totally going to copy the water bottle idea. I have thought the design her gals are totally adorable for a while and couldn’t think of a way to incorporate them.. good thinking..

Also what about flip flops or flats or something for later on in the reception? I am doing these: http://www.drscholls.com/drscholls/forher.jsp For dancing during the wedding…
