It’s the morning of our wedding and I’m sitting on the balcony of my suite overlooking the water. I’m finally wearing the bride robe I eyed for months, maybe even years. The weather is beautiful and it’s supposed to be in the mid-70s, perfect for our garden ceremony.

Everyone told me the days leading up to our wedding were going to be busy, but you’ll never really understand it until it’s your time. This last week has been a such a whirlwind with last-minute projects and errands. The pay-off will be grand, though. I have already experienced a taste of it. Our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner went off without a hitch. Families were mingling and friends from out of town came to our sides. We’ve all been anticipating this day.

I can’t help but think this is our time. This is our moment for life. This is the peak of our relationship and the day we’ve both been waiting for forever. Since before the planning, through tough times and bad relationships, this day has been in the making. The day we realize our God-destined plan to spend eternity together. We’ve arrived!

I’m so excited and happy. I can’t wait to put on my wedding dress! I love being surrounded by my friends; I have the most amazing, loving, beautiful friends! I’m nervous, too, about all of our DIY details. I’m wondering if they’ll go together and if people will enjoy them. I’m definitely sentimental—I feel that more than anything. Each day this week, I got more and more choked up talking about the wedding. There’s no doubt that today it will spill over. Most of all, though, I’m ready. Ready to birth this baby we called wedding! Ready to show off our venue and enjoy our delicious food. Ready to become Mrs. Brooch.
