Justification

April 11th, 2011 @ 3:23 pm by Mrs. Crepe

The ring pillow was one of those unimportant details to Mr. Crepe and me—we probably aren’t going to have a ring bearer so having a pillow seemed unnecessary. But you know how it is. You come across photo after photo of adorable creative solutions for something so seemingly simple and then it doesn’t seem quite so unnecessary. Besides, it’s such a tiny project, right? Justification is the word of the day. (Or month.)

Martha’s always got a few great ones—I love the texture that the pleats offer, as well as the knits and the flowers. The book is just such a clever solution and with our centerpieces being stacks of books, it would all tie together nicely. But they’re all such cute options!!

I love how the rings looked nestled into the moss and the vintage teacup is a sweet touch.

Which style do you think we should go with? Did you create something unique for your own pillows?

Hmm I admit I didn’t really think about a pillow - just assumed the best man would have them in his pocket? Is that wrong?

I love the book option, but if you’re having a hard time deciding, then I would try to combine a couple of them…maybe have the book with a pleated ribbon bookmark or attach a pretty blossom to the front of the book? Or consider other ways to bring some texture to the book (maybe a vintage or leather embossed book?)
Sorry all my suggestions are about the book, but like I said…I really love that option- especially since it ties into your centerpieces…I would almost consider one of those fake book shaped boxes so that you could use it as a jewelry box or place to store wedding mementos/pictures after the big day.

I am right there with you! We do not have a ring bearer either but I love all of those pretty pillows! Etsy has way too many cute options!

We won’t have a ring bearer but we’re doing a ring warming so it turns out we *will* need something akin to a pillow/bowl. I’m with Mrs. E! The moss and teacup one is cute and totally reusable (the cup part anyway).

I’ve barely given a thought to our ring bearer’s pillow, but your post has totally inspired me to get to thinkin’! I absolutely adore the ruffled one!

The moss one is adorable! I made our ring pillow out of felt to look like the Weighted Companion Cube from Portal. Cost me all of five bucks and it is too cute!

We made ours out of a coconut filled with moss. I love the little details that make it yours!

I love some of the ring pillows on etsy as well!

However, what would you do with them without a ring bearer?

On a similar note, has anyone found some cute adorable flower baskets to go with them?
