Mrs. Ostrich, San Francisco/Hawaii Age and Occupation: 30, Fashion Buyer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 38, Copywriter Engagement Date: October 4, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Sweet ceremony by the sea and sunset celebration on the North Shore of Hawaii About Me: Born in the city of angels and residing in the city by the bay, I’m a fearless fashion buyer by day, a passionate blog author by night and a dreamy bride-to-be in between. I thank my lucky stars to live in such a stunning city that gives me gifts like organic honey lavender ice cream, movie nights in the park, tucked away beaches, legendary record stores, '80s dance parties, awesome sports teams, stellar flea markets, and vintage bookshops. Oh, and I love to dance! We always find every excuse to escape to the beach, and decided a little seaside wedding in Hawaii is our idea of bliss. Full of our favorite people, music, food and sparkly lights, this is one sunset celebration we will always remember.
About Mrs. Ostrich

Heyyyy, Hive!

I had too much fun dancin’ with y’all yesterday to the Ostrich Wedding Playlist Part 1…and have our Part 2 Dance Party tunes on deck and ready to go.

ARE YOUUUU READYYYYYYYY?

For the Ostrich Dance Party, there will be no civilized dancing. No ballroom steps, no gentle swaying. There will be, however, wild fist pumping, Single Ladies dancing, Superman-ing, Dougie-ing and a whole lotta other footloose and fancy free steppin’ a la Soul Train:

Hey DJ, Could You Play That Song? Part II : wedding hawaii music Soul Tr soul-tr

Soul Train via yardbarker.com

So, hive, if you’re up for some ridiculous, shameless bogeying, these tunes are dedicated to you!

Let’s do this. :)

THE OSTRICH WEDDING SOUNDTRACK - PART II

The Dance Party: Best. Jams. Ever

’80s revival:

The Promise -When in Rome

Don’t You Want Me Baby - Human League

I Need You Tonight - INXS

Dance, Dance, Revolution:

Hip Hop Hoorayyyyy, Hooooooooooo!

End of the Night, uncontrollable Sing-a-long List:

Aaaaaand that’s a wrap, bees. :) *High Five* for makin’ it through this epic 2 part post. You’re awesome.

Now tell me—what BEST. EVER songs did we miss? What are you faves? Are you having a dance, dance revolution reception like we are? I want to hear allll about it.

YES Don’t You Want Me Baby - Human League

YES YES YES Gold Digger - Kanye ft. Jamie Foxx (I was JUST listening to this on repeat last night at full blast!)

And, of course, Don’t Stop Believin’ is a definite YES.

This list is amazing. This is why I heart you, O.

I love that you will have no civilized dancing at your wedding! Your playlist looks awesome, especially the Journey at the end!

Love your song selections, your wedding will be a blast.

I couldn’t help to notice that you didn’t have any Karen O or Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ songs. We danced our first dance to Hysteric by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and have All is Love by Karen O and the Kids played before our ceremony. YOu should check those two songs out, I highly recommend them and they seem to fit into your playlists.

Low is my all time favorite song to dance to! It don’t take a lot of skill and anyone can dance to it.

We’ve had long discussions as to whether “Empire State of Mind” is danceable or not… we met in NYC so it’d be cute, but he doesn’t think so…

@Silveramos: it’s so funny that you mentioned that. Karen O and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are one of me and Mr. O’s (he is OBSESSED) favorite artists of all time and Hysteric is in our Top5 fave songs. We were waffling back and forth if this was something our wedding peoples would dance to….and you’ve just convinced me to add it to the list! THANKS FOR THE ADVICE.
