We decided to go a bit formal for the family portraits and take them inside our school’s most well known mansion, Ochre Court. The outside of Ochre Court was actually used as the “Swiss” chateau in the opening of the movie True Lies, starring the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger. That’s a well known piece of trivia given to Salve students during orientation. I love trivia, so I thought I’d share. The site was perfect for our family photos. We took some formal shots with my mom and siblings.

Then again with Starfish Dad.

I then got a photo with each of my parents.

Next we moved across the room to get a different backdrop and took photos with my MIL & FIL Starfish.

Then another of the whole Starfish family.

I wish I had added a few more variations of family photos. So many were taken at Sister Starfish’s wedding, so I didn’t do ones like photos of just me and my siblings or a group shot with my siblings and significant others. She had tons at hers, so I figured I’d do the basic. I wish I hadn’t. It’s about the same, even though she has them from her wedding and it’s the same people, it’s not the same because we don’t have these special photos from our wedding. I was happy that the second shooter got a great family shot of Brother Starfish and his family.

So if you take anything away from this post, make sure you really think out what family shots you want. There were some I didn’t think of pre-wedding, but would have loved.
