Mrs. Cardigan's Picture
Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!
About Mrs. Cardigan

Our guests were just starting to arrive as I rushed into the venue, ran through the kitchen (some people were already seated in the ceremony room, and I didn’t want to walk through it and be seen!) and dove into the bridal room.

My nerves were running high, but thankfully there was champagne in the room to help calm me down. The time I spent in this room is a bit of a blur to me, because I was so incredibly nervous and excited. I just remember pacing around the room and trying not to throw up. I’ve never in my life been so excited for anything.

Our florist had placed all of our bouquets in this room—we hadn’t seen them yet—so I quickly made myself busy emptying the water out of the vases they were in. We wouldn’t want any water dripping off the flowers as we were coming down the aisle. We were admiring what a great job she did on them!

All of our flowers, ready to go.

I had forgotten to give my bee charms (as seen in a few bee weddings so far, and hopefully many more to come!) to the florist beforehand, so I quickly added them on.

And I figured we were good to go!

We’d been in there for about 10 minutes (and it was moments away from the ceremony start time) when we realized that we were not, in fact, good to go. We had left something very important in the bridal suite. MY VEIL!

Daddy Cardigan came to the rescue and ran back to the hotel to grab it. He got back just in time for us to get ready to walk down the aisle!

I hastily threw the veil on, not really caring how well it was attached (note the foreshadowing!), grabbed my bouquet, and stood around nervously waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Our families were all lined up outside of the door…

And it was (FINALLY) time to start the ceremony!

Sister Cardy, waiting for her cue!

How were you feeling moments before your ceremony?

I can feel the anticipation in your post, so exciting! I really love the word wall/text wall in your venue (behind your flowers), I’m curious what it is and what it says.
