I love all things design, sewing, flea markets, and a good book. I’ve been known to swoon over a well-designed chair and often find myself craving a new addition to my chair collection regardless of the lack square footage in our home. I’m Mexican American girl who hates all things spicy but loves her rowdy Mexican family and her Latin roots. My wedding muses may not be your typical wedding superstars, but with a lot of DIY, a dash of offbeat style, and lots of love and laughs, Mr. Cotton and I plan to create a day that is unmistakably us.

Invitation Inspiration II

April 19th, 2011 @ 7:53 pm by Mrs. Cotton Candy

About 3 weeks after sending our designer Kristen the inspiration pics for our invites, we received our custom proofs. I had begun to get a little nervous about the outcome of the invites since I hadn’t given Kristen any specific details regarding wording, sizing, and color, but I was ecstatic when I received our proofs. Kirsten worked her magic and was able to pull all the elements I loved into three separate invites for us to pick from.

Each invitation was sized to fit in a #10 envelope and had some Mid-century flair featuring our font, Festiva, with sewing and craft touches to unite our handmade modern theme. The first one was inspired by an invite I sent her, and echoed the look and feel of our STDs.

Invite number 2 was inspired by our love of concert posters:

Last but not least was our third choice, which had a simpler elegant feel to it. I was really drawn to the simple wording of the invite:Invitation Inspiration II : wedding invitations riverside stationery Invite 02

After some discussion back and forth, Mr CCandy and I finally decided upon Invite #1. I really love the frame shape that Kristen created and really love all the different sewing elements she included into the design. Invitation Inspiration II : wedding invitations riverside stationery Invite 03

Our Final Invite Suite!

We received the final design last week and were now in a race to get these bad boys screen-printed and assembled in time for our 1st week in May deadline!

What do you guys think? Anyone else up against a time crunch to get your invites out the door?

I love them all! Good thing I’m not getting married until July of 2012 because I’ve already been looking at invites for a month (and hours at a time!) and I can’t find what I am looking for!

I would have had such a hard time choosing between these three–they’re all so pretty! I love the frame shape and the cute heart details on your chosen design!

I agree that there wasn’t a wrong choice in the bunch, but I was secretly rooting for #1. Good choice! :)

I’ve never seen such unique wedding invitations before. Because the usual invitation that I received is bulky. This one is simple yet you will see everything there. Thanks for he ideas.

Love #1! I had the opposite problem, I mailed mine earlier than planned since I pre-bought postage and the lovely USPS decided to raise rates this week. I wasn’t about to add 3 cent stamps to my pretty cake stamp.
