Hair. Let’s talk about it.

No, no, no… not that.
WEDDING hair.

Close enough.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about my wedding day ‘do a lot this week, because I have my first hair trial next Wednesday. While I’m super excited, I’m honestly not expecting much. My hair has a tendency to get really, really, flat. Any professional volume or curl seems to magically disappear after 3-4 hours. Flat hair = Sad hair.
That sounds SO pessimistic, I know. And I really am TRYING to be positive, but the many prom/homecoming/bridesmaid hair disasters of my past are haunting me.
To take my mind off of a potential hair flop, I’ve been narrowing down my inspiration pics to a couple of ”could-be-fabulous” choices. I’m 99.9% sure that I want to wear my hair up, with lots of (forced) volume at the crown. The phrase “relaxed updo” seems to fit what I’m liking at the moment:

I really like simple styles (as you can probably tell). And, as I said before, I’m 99.9% sure I want to wear my hair up. Why only 99.9%? Well, I was 100% sure. Until I saw this:

I. AM. OBSESSED.
Yes, my fascination with The Biggest Loser has actually led me to stalk Alison Sweeney’s hair stylist, and follow his blog. Don’t judge me. It led me to a step-by-step tutorial for this hairstyle. And I love it. All of it… the braid, the half-up, half-down-ness, and the way it would perfectly compliment the style of my dress.
The only thing I’m worried about is my volume-challenged locks. I can just picture the ponytail section falling flat before our ceremony is even over… leaving me with a rat tail-esque accessory on my shoulder. Ew.
What do you guys think? I guess I could turn it into an updo, but I really love the overall effect of the original. Any tips for a flat haired bride?
