About Mrs. Prairie Dog

Nearly a month out now, and I think our wedding accessories are in order! Here are our shiny trappings:

The Tiniest, Most Expensive Wedding Details : wedding accessories cincinnati rings Misc0302 misc+0302

Here we have: Pdog’s cufflinks (in a shape that matches my engagement ring), his ring (brushed metal comfort—fit with milgrain—perfect), and both of my rings (which I’ve talked enough about already). Pdog is so obsessed with his ring. He keeps wearing it around the house, and I have to remind him to take it off before we leave, as to not cause confusion with friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Then we have my necklace-turned-bracelet, which I wrote all about, plus my makeup accessories: MAC lipstick in “Honey Love” and Essie’s “Eternal Optimist” polish. And some earring options…

I know most people buy new accessories for their wedding day, but I’m wearing those pearl earrings on the right. Pdog bought them for me a few years ago. We were in downtown Cincinnati right before the holidays, ice-skating and shopping. I fell in love with those earrings behind their glass casing, and, in a fit of romantic spontaneity, he proclaimed, “I’m going to buy them for you!” And he did, right then and there. They remind me of him—of us—and I don’t need anything more than that on our wedding day.

And I’m also not buying a new clutch for myself. No reason to—I haven’t found any I like as much as these few I already own. I have one gold, one silver, one pink, and two black options. I’ll pick one eventually, and let my bridesmaids borrow the rest, if they want.

Are you buying new accessories? Anything good? I love accessories, so tell me about ’em!

Lovely accessories!

I have to buy new jewelry because I don’t have any that will work for a wedding - I thought I would be able to reuse my jewelry from highschool prom but they all tarnished. D:

Haha my fiance looooves his wedding band too - he wears it all the time, even though I try to get him to take it off when we leave. He just puts it on his right hand. :P At lease we know they will not be the type that doesn’t wear their wedding bands!

I’m doing something similar for earrings. A pair of simple pearl studs were the first jewelry he bought me, for Christmas 5 years ago. I’m using the term “something old” loosely here. :)

I’m also borrowing my sister’s wedding necklace that also has pearl’s on it; a rhinestone headband; pale pink nail polish I already own; and last but not least, a clutch I found on clearance at David’s Bridal when I got my mom’s dress. I didn’t own any clutch purses before this.

I’m for sure not getting a new clutch. I already have two that I don’t use often enough! One is made of newspaper and the other is black, so I’ll probably use the newspaper one.

I’m borrowing earrings and bracelets from a friend. I am thinking of asking a fellow bee for her hair flower, it’s the prettiest I’ve ever seen. I bought new shoes and those are my biggest splurge. http://www.lastcall.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod900061&ecid=LCALRFeedJ84DHJLQkR4&ncx=n&uEm=%%affiliates%%&ci_src=14110925&ci_sku=X0Q3G&ecid=LCALRINSERT_11_DIGIT_SITEID_HERE My friend gave me her Amsale veil which is MORE expensive than my dress :)

My mom was unable to travel to our state for wedding gown shopping because of her poor health so my girlfriend took photos of me in THE gown and I sent them to her (snail mail; my mom was never technically savvy).

When she saw the photos she told her husband that she had a string of pearls that were my grandmothers that she was going to surprise me with to wear with my gown (it has a lot of beaded/pearl details)!

Well, she passed away a few days later but I will wear her mother’s pearls knowing that she intended for them to bring me joy and I will carry a familial sense of assurance knowing that.

Let’s see…. I have a necklace and earrings set I bought, a tiara (’cause I gotta), and will be buying shoes. Not sure about a bracelet, but the antique watch my FI got me years ago will be worn, despite it being black and gold and the dress is black with silver/clear beading/sequins.

who knows what else I’ll buy… I loves me some jewelry! LOL!

Your accessories are so pretty! That’s too cute that Pdog wears his ring around. And, I’d like to go shopping amongst your clutch collection. ;)

Love all of your choices! I’ve been questioning if I even need a clutch… even knowing it would mean adding a pretty bag to my collection.

I love your accessories really really pretty! I love your pearl necklace and your ring is gorgeous!! I’ve been really lucky because my mom decided to buy my necklace which has a couple pearls and she also bought my earrings. I bought myself a black, blingy, bridal clutch:) I can’t wait to wear/use them:)
