Mrs. Seal's Picture
Mrs. Seal, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 25, Personal Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Sales and Support Specialist Engagement Date: December 12, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2011 Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.
About Mrs. Seal

All right, guys. I have a confession: I have my dress. In fact, I’ve had my dress for ages and have been holding out on you.

I, however, have absolutely no intention of showing it to you here on the ‘Bee until my wedding-day recaps. This is for quite a few reasons. Most importantly, Mr. S reads the blog and no matter how hard he tries to convince me that he’ll be a good boy and heed my cute “Stay Out, Mr. Seal!” warnings…I can’t risk it. It’s not that I don’t trust him; it’s just that I know I wouldn’t be able to resist a monumental temptation like that, so I surely shouldn’t ask it of him!

Can you forgive me?

Anyhoo, hows about I make it up to you wiiiiith…WEDDING-DRESS HANGERS! OK, I know that’s definitely not an even exchange, but it is definitely the most important hanger I will ever use, riiight?

So. Hrmm. Well, we have a few options here.

There’s the padded hanger:

And finally, the personalized wire hanger.

I am a sucker for the custom wire hangers, but I couldn’t get Mommie Dearest out of my head screaming, “NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!”

I opted for a compromise. I found a lovely seller on Etsy who makes hybrid wooden-wire hangers and settled on the saying “happily ever after.” Mr. Seal and I are big Disney fans, and it well reflected our affinity for storybook tales.

Take a looksie! I can’t wait to hang my dress on this baby. (I can already envision the dress photos!)

Will you even think twice about your dress hanger, or am I a bit crazy for details? What kind will you opt for?

I’ve thought so much about hangers that I set out to make myself and my bridesmaids some… All wooden of course (I think I saw Mommy Dearest one too many times as well)

I never though about hangers…until my wedding planner had mentioned it to me. I ordered mine off of Etsy. It is a painted wooden hanger with lace and a crystal monogram.

I’m big into the wooden hanger meself! I like the contrast with the white dress and usually lightish door/wall.

I ordered a hybrid too! . . . If it would only get here all ready ;-).

I love how chic they look!

I think I am going to have to steal this idea! I like the wooden and wire hanger, but there is no way I could ever make this. My handwriting is awful, so I can only imagine what it would look like if I tried to spell something with wire! :)
Oh, and I love your Mommy Dearest reference! I use that line with my daughter all of the time.

I bought my hanger from the same seller! I can’t wait for it to come in :o) The wire will say Mrs. Smashville & I’ll have my monogram painted on the front center area.

I love the wood + wire combo! I purchased a padded hanger from Etsy seller tokyoblues, so it’s safe to say I’m also crazy for pretty details. ;)

I love the wire hangers, too, but my dress is HEAVY! I have to get something, though — my dress only came with a plastic one. Sigh.

hahaha this is super cute! .. I think you just might be a little crazy on details.. or maybe I’m the one with the problem!! I never thought about a hanger!!!! hahaha

luckily, my grandma gave my mom padded hangers for my bachelorette party, so all the guests could hang their coats and such) and some of them were not even used,,, so I can use one of those :)

thanks for reminding me about these details! :P

Cute hanger! Such a small detail, but one that I notice in dress pictures.
